The return of my E60 M5 - Wallet drained - now Supercharged!
Discussion
Went out for an end of year run to Caffeine and Machine, having not really been able to use the car since the end of November.
Weather was pretty rubbish on the way home, plus there is still some meeting of tyre and arch. Still need to sort the camber out.
Edit to correct the poor spelling of Weather...

That looks stunning tbh. Very much torn on whether this or the E34 is my favourite M5, but that's making a compelling case for the V10....Whether was pretty rubbish on the way home, plus there is still some meeting of tyre and arch. Still need to sort the camber out.

I wasn’t far from C&M this weekend; the weather was indeed horrible. Weather was pretty rubbish on the way home, plus there is still some meeting of tyre and arch. Still need to sort the camber out.

Cheers!I'd like to try and E34. I was very tempted by one in 2008/9 that was up for sale for £4k, 3.6, 100k miles. Many regrets.

Yeah on the way back was a bit sketchy. Your car is sitting so well on the new wheels.
Cheers, I need to raise it when I fit my coilovers.
Dyno day tomorrow. Interested to see what it makes but also check the fueling is right and see if we can see what's happening when I change gear under acceleration, as there is an issue with the car holding back.
The headlights are also pretty much pointing to the ground. I have adjust them but I have a feeling they may be too high, so I'll be having another look tonight.
Here's a picture I took on a recent visit to Caffeine and Machine at The Bowl.

Well, today didn't quite go to plan.
611.9 bhp was the result.
You can see it starting to lean out around 6200rpm. It's pulling the timing and the power just goes flat.
What do I think it is? Probably fuel pumps, but could be injectors or map.
Were the injectors not changed with the conversion? 611.9 bhp was the result.

I only ask as a lad on YouTube Chrisslix has just supercharged an M3 and he changed the injectors.
If you have then it's surely got be the pump?
How ever old it is plus now your asking for more out of it.
Did the rolling road have any input on what it could be??

Yes they were, but, they were unobtainable and then suddenly they were, so I'm just a bit unsure about them I guess. I only ask as a lad on YouTube Chrisslix has just supercharged an M3 and he changed the injectors.

Pumps are 4 and a half years old. I'm going to replace them with upgraded ones anyway.
We all thought it could be pump, injectors or map. Could be the pressure reg.
Having contacted the company who supply the kit, we feel it's a pump issue. The E6x M5/6 have 2 pumps. 1 runs at variable speed until 5500rpm and then the 2nd pump kicks in with full speed and pressure, so both pumps are then running.
There is a test in BMW diag tool ISTA that can test the fuel pumps to see if they can provide the 6bar required over 5500rpm. I suspect the 2nd pump on my car isn't able to keep up with demand and this test will fail.
If the test passes, then I can take the car out and load it up to 8000rpm while a passenger keeps an eye on the pressure reading from ISTA.

Two pumps to help drain the fuel tank a bit faster! There is a test in BMW diag tool ISTA that can test the fuel pumps to see if they can provide the 6bar required over 5500rpm. I suspect the 2nd pump on my car isn't able to keep up with demand and this test will fail.

On a more serious note, I hope you get it sorted and running right soon.
