I had been giving serious consideration to selling the car, despite the financial bath I would take on it, but the bit of attention it got on Saturday, and how much my mate with the Silverstone Blue II M3 loved it had a positive affect on me
This might be an unpopular view, but this sounds really unhealthy.Buy a car that you can own and enjoy for yourself. Not one that causes you financial hardship and stress because it makes you feel better by impressing others.
I'd absolutely love a V10 M6, but threads like this make me realise that it would probably annoy me too much to actually enjoy.

I found the Powerflex bushes to be of poor longevity on my E46 models. Two sets fitted to different cars got get baggy and worn out. They were both fitted with the Powerflex lube but were un-serviceable after 30-40,000 miles.
Are they supposed to outlive Mt Everest or something ?? 30-40k is not a poor lifespan, is it ? TheAngryDog said:
There are a lot of horror stories, but you only ever hear of the bad. There are plenty of happy stories as well. It is a car you need to do your due diligence on before buying, and even then expect problems!
I'd still recommend one yes. It is a special car, more special than the M5's that replaced it.
Just to back this up, a colleague of mine has an M6 with the same V10 and has had very minimal problems over quite a few years, just the usual odd parts needing replacing. And he likes to take every corner sideways, especially in the winter (his other car is a drift-prepped S15). So indeed, for every epic saga of financial woe, there is another happy tale of hard-tested reliability. He was tempting me in the pub last week talking about how cheap they are!I'd still recommend one yes. It is a special car, more special than the M5's that replaced it.

If there was a really hot lady but there was a chance she was mental, would you go out with her? No right or wrong answer btw, but I would! Life's too short, YOLO, etc.

Another benefit of the Cerbera is that when it isn't working it is a lovely place to sit and dream about when it will be working again!!
Sometimes you just have to take a risk and go for it. Would I buy another TVR...possibly not but at least I can say that I've been there...much like AngryDog.

Ok, I fancy a 911 Turbo (997) next, can you buy a ropey one and get it all sorted out at vast expense and then flog it to me at the going rate ?
What I am trying to say is, keep it, enjoy it for a while and get some enjoyment out of all that heartache, agro and money it has cost you, in the meantime prices shouldnt get any worse, possibly even increase, especially for a well sorted example where the pain has already been gone through.
Just try not to keep spending and spending, unless you are really thinking long term.
When would you like to take delivery of the 911 Turbo? What I am trying to say is, keep it, enjoy it for a while and get some enjoyment out of all that heartache, agro and money it has cost you, in the meantime prices shouldnt get any worse, possibly even increase, especially for a well sorted example where the pain has already been gone through.

You don't marry her because your mates think she's fit.

They are such good cars to own, even to this day I still feel these to be more interesting than current day M5's with their adjustable brake pedals. Especially in todays age of possible 4 cylinder C63's (!!!), it is important for us to keep cars like these running, this is why we went with the Audi.
I would 100% buy this off you, only problem is you are 5 years too early. Maybe get back to me then

LOL, in 5 years it may be worth a heck of a lot more money. I respect the F10, would still have one, but the noise is so disappointing. The owners are constantly trying to defend the noise and say how good they sound, especially when they replace the down pipes etc. The thing is, they still sound crap compared to every M5 that came before it. I would 100% buy this off you, only problem is you are 5 years too early. Maybe get back to me then
a 4 cylinder C63 is just full of disappoint, but sadly it is the way things are going. I'll be surprised if the next M5 isn't a hybrid straight 6.

Call me a sucker for punishment . But there quiet easy beasts to look after. If you know how to spanner That’s why I bought both mine in fairness there very low mileage tho . Both tooked away for winter .
Mine is my only car currently. It'll be getting used over winter, something I couldn't do last winter due to it being broken.I aren't that great with the spanners unfortunately so I farm out the work to my local indy who look after me.

If you ever want to learn or your clutch gets the munchies more than willing to show you how easy a 4K bmw job can be done in 4hours
Thanks for the kind offer, I may well take you up on that as I am spending a fortune with my indy In fact I need to replace my sunroof seal at some point and I'd rather not farm that out.Thankfully my clutch is only about 4k miles old
Where in the UK are you?

Cheers! I didn't spend much time around it, had a few chats with people about it which was nice. It's nice that these cars still get some notice.
I strolled last and was going to say hello, but you were chatting to another chap. The V10 M5 will always be a cool car given that it’s he last of the n/a bespoke engines.

Yeah they should hopefully be held in higher regard as we keep getting bombarded with small engined turbo cars etc, that sound like wet farts.
