Seeing this thread appear in my stuff is like an HMRC brown envelope turning up, I mean you hope it's good news but it frequently isn't.
I would have ran out of patience with this car months(maybe years) ago for sure. I'd have driven it into a tree deliberately or smashed it to pieces with a hammer by now. I admire TheAngryDog's patience for sure. smile

I guess with a car like this, when it works it's an engineering masterpiece dominated by the V10 engine. I think there are few cars that have such a love hate relationship with their owners smile

I don my hat to the OP I would have thrown in the towel ages ago. However, there aren't that many high revving 'exotic' v10's out there unless you have deep pockets for a Lexus LFA!!

Replacing this beast will happen at some point but at last the OP got to sample something pretty unique.

hehe well, we seem to have some good news. A full reset of the error codes appears to have cleared it.

I am very impatient man. The angry bit of my user name isn't for looks laugh

What else would I do? Lol. An F10 is too much risk and for all the people who say they're great, they are dull as fk.

You're like those women who say they love bad boys but their life is a train wreck and 'but he really loves me and I know he'll change' hehe

It's rare that something that simple resolves an issue on an E60 M5 laugh

To give you some encouragement my mate is now selling his mapped & Armytrix exhaust M6 GC because his strokered M5 has bitten him bad & he loves it, even though it looks like his throttle actuators are playing up. rolleyes

Tbh I think I am in this for the long haul unless someone makes me an offer I cannot refuse. A mate of mine is about to sell his manual converted M5 so going to be interesting to see how that goes.

I always lusted after an E60 M5. Until this thread.

I doth my cap to you, sir, you're a braver, and more patient man than I.

Tbf, the car has been largely fine, it was the who worked on it that broke it.

I haven't been using the car very much of late, in fact until yesterday I hadn't used it for 2 weeks.

Used it locally yesterday and then today decided late on to pop over to Caffeine and Machine.

I think that I got incredibly lucky with the lighting there!

Thanks guys.

MOT passed again yesterday, still never failed an MOT. Noted that the discs have some pitting etc. Tester says not to worry, I'll decide myself on that.

All in all though, I think my head has been turned and while I don't completely want to sell the car, I do have an itch to scratch, and the only way I can do that is to sell it. I will be having a look at a potential replacement at some point when covid allows.
