A Rusty Ford Fiesta

Keep the updates coming!
Mental looking thing. If someone described it to me I'd expect to not like it, but it looks ace! Some real effort has gone into that.
Very posh inlet, expensive too I guess if it's off a proper S1600 Puma?
What's the plan for the end result? Noticed you're going for hydraulics which you wouldn't usually expect to see on a track car. But you have things like the posh inlet that you wouldn't expect to see on a show car. (That's not meant as a dig, genuinely curious!)
Is that rear spoiler a Spoon item for an EG Civic?
Big fan of the interior too, the standard one in this shape Fiesta is hideous, the Cosworth one is a big improvement! Love the powdercoated subframes too.
Don't let the moaners stop you posting updates!

Sad that the OP, within a few hours of signing up and posting details on their car/upgrade feels so unwelcome from the response they decide to leave. Clearly the OP is a car enthusiast and one who has done far more to their car than 95% of the people on here - and not just the 'I bought a Porsche/BMW/Audi/etc. and paid someone to fit an air-freshener' level of modding (including myself here).
The engineering/getting hands dirty side of Readers cars is always fascinating for me and something I look forward to. In this instance I was interested in seeing the behind the scenes effort going into making a 'scene/stance' car look/work the way it does. It is obviously far more involved than fitting lowered springs and some bits from Halfords. Reading this and other such articles allows me to better understand other peoples tastes and gives an enlightening insight into a genre that I may otherwise be ignorant of.
Perhaps we need to see more Readers' cars from all areas of interest. That way we might be a little more tolerant and also better informed?

Well said.
Granted hydraulics and stanced won't appeal to all, in fact some just don't get it and revert to 'is it broken' grade replies. Oh my God, stop... you're hillarious, do use that again for the 756th time this month. However, done well, the level of time, skill and engineering to get a car to sit like this can't be ignored. OK the finished article may not be to ones personal taste but as enthusiasts, we should at least appreciate the effort behind such work?
It's always quite interesting to see how fine the line becomes when it comes to cars, projects and builds. This sort of thing gets brushed off by the narrow minded types yet there's another Fiesta build on here and not one person has said "Really mate, it's a Fiesta... why bother?". The OP hasn't done this on a budget of zero, the vision is great, the execution looks of a high standard and it's bringing variety to what has become a bit of a stale forum of late, same stuff regurgitated... so I think some of the negativity directed his way is uncalled for.
Perhaps an easy target for some, the first goes in hoping his equally narrow minded peers then all rush in to back him up, back slapping a job well done. Happens a lot on this forum. It's a shame really as enthusiasts, we should really appreciate all cars, maybe not in their entirety but we should find positive aspects or at the very least, offer fellow enthusiasts a bit of common courtesy and respect even if they walk a slightly different path from the one you may have chosen.

It's a sad showing when as soon as someone posts something different from the slew of BMW's, Porsches or Mercs something which has obviously had a lot of time effort and money spent on it, PH goes into full on arse mode and shoots it down, because god forbid you should show any form of individualism and post about a modified car that isn't one of the accepted marques!!!
I for one would love to see this car progress and think it's a travesty the way this young lad has been treated.

Fair play to you.
You'll probably get loads of abuse from all the sad old gits on here who can't remember being young, I'm getting pretty old and have long grown out of this sort of thing, but can see why you are doing it at your age.
Fair play.
Wes
Exactly this. You are creating something personal too you, well done. You’ll be doing it for the rest of your life, and your style will change with it.You'll probably get loads of abuse from all the sad old gits on here who can't remember being young, I'm getting pretty old and have long grown out of this sort of thing, but can see why you are doing it at your age.

I remember fitting my 1st Fibreglass aerial and Sharp apss stereo ( Ffwd and rev!) and thinking i was the danglers.
And as said, bloody fair play to you. Look forward to the updates.
I won’t update on here as clearly it’s not the place for it, I don’t mind some feedback, but quite obviously it’s not the sort of project that fits in on this site
I’ll see my self out.
Thanks ??
If you're still about, a question regarding the suspension, you say 'hydraulic' ... do you mean air ride? If so, what's the ride like when it's at normal height? Is it as comfortable as a normal 'sport' / lowered suspension or is it rock solid? Could you use it as a daily driver or would it be too firm?

Isn't it sad that as soon as something like this pops up, the 'it's cool to be a c*nt' crew wade in like Bully Big Baws being quite cut throat. Yes, opinions... yes say it as it is and all that but seems to be a certain demographic picking on a certain demographic. Yet elsewhere people are dragging garbage out ditches, dropping stupid money on crap cars or parading yet another new thing that impresses the boorish types yet nobody else gets such hostility. Why not appreciate the diversity and variety this forum has and if you don't like it, run along and keep quiet. Anyways, he's gone so that's free'd up some bandwidth for another M140... marvellous.
This all over. I'd imagine most of the people slagging this off are driving around in diesel VAG with the baby seat in the back.Although its not for me I can appreciate the time, money and effort that has gone into it.
It takes me back to my younger years with the whole Max Power thing, when my dad was telling me that all the modded cars were dangerous and driven by chav s... me I aspired to a 5 turbo with a kit, big wheels and a dump valve! But then my mum always used to say if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything.... one of my parents was right.

It's weird all the threads moaning about the younger generation getting base spec Audi's and BMW's on PCP, and when a young lad comes on to show a very impressive level of workmanship on an old car you all bully him off the site.
there is modding your car and then there is changing it dangerously because its fashion and you have to be a sheepits a shame May sacked all the police so they don't seize on sight cars stanced / stretched tyres like this like the German police do
I'll add my voice to all the others hoping the OP returns. Interesting to see other peoples take on a car, even if it's not to your own taste.
I had one of those Fiesta's years ago, a great little car and I imagine a bit of modifying could produce some fairly interesting and fun results. Hope we see some more updates.

Hello all,
i appreciate all the support from everyone that wants me to continue this thread, but I have decided not to.
There really is no point with the amount of controversy and people who simply can’t “understand it” or the amount of debate which would occur because of some of the modifications, which I feel will defeat the whole purpose of my build thread.
It’s disappointing really as it’s all over stance / tyres and hydraulic suspension, I could raise the car at a push of a button and change the wheels in 20 mins and would have a whole different outcome on here, I’m sure.
The stance is just for show purposes anyway and the cosworth wheels for everything else..
I am getting a turbo conversion for the current setup and am hoping to achieve a 250BHP which will be some fun, but at the same time if I took it to a show I wanted to slam it on some wheels and achieve a different look by literally just changing the wheels.. that was kind of my whole purpose behind this build to have a track kind of look, but also show worthy at the same time. ( the car is in black primer, I haven’t decided a colour for it)
I may consider re posting the thread to eliminate 3 pages of comments due to how badly this started, but I really really don’t feel this is the site for posting something like this if people simply can’t respect different tastes in the community.

That will 'clean up' the thread and it would likely be better to keep this original thread anyway.
And welcome back.
