Well that looks bloody lovely doesn't it?

Nice one OP. I am jealous, its another on the list of "cars I can't fit in but definitely wish I could properly experience"

It's good to finally have it at home, although shame about the weather!

I've not bought a new car before, and probably won't again, so this may well be a once in a lifetime experience.

This is true. The SV I test drove was a lot wider. Personally I prefer the original S3 chassis, but if you need the width the option is there. Mine does have the lowered floors, that's a must unless you're below average height.

Stunning, congrats OP! The perfect Seven for a blend of road and track driving in my opinion; more than enough power to enjoy fully on the road without going too fast and plenty fast enough on track too.

Looks fantastic, I remember the day my first (of 5) Caterhams was delivered on a dull and wet day but it didn’t dampen my excitement one bit!

I will have another.....

I drove around with a sticky plate for over a year. No interest from the police at all.

That would have to sit right where the bonnet stripe meets the nose band so I don't think would be a good solution here.

The plate does look large but its not the end of the world. They really look best with no plate at all.

Probably going to jinx myself now, but I haven't ever fitted a front plate to mine and have never been pulled.

On my car, (420), if I were to mount it like the OPs car (310), it would be sitting right in front of the oil cooler, so thats a no go area.

If I were to mount it below the nose cone, it would last about 10 minutes before being snapped off on speed bumps.

The ideal solutions for a Caterham would be either - stick on bonnet type plate or under-sized front mounted plate, both of which are also not allowed. This seems stupid to me as that means every E Type jag with their sticky bonnet mounted front plate is technically illegal and if my car was a Japanese import, I could legally use a smaller UK plate.

I believe that having no plate at all is a lesser offence than having an illegal plate and would result in a fixed penalty notice rather than a fine of up to £1000 for an illegal size, typeface, design etc.

I think the reason is "Sorry officer it has just fallen off" which is why I keep mine in the boot with sicky tabs attached, whereas if I displayed an illegal stcky or under-sized plate, it would demonstrate that I had actively intended to break the law.

Edited to apologise for unintended thread hijack. Great choice Gulf7. Enjoy. thumbup
