Been a while since I caught up with thud, but to work as always. Car looks fab.
I still recall like these…I was more interested in the 172 parked next the the McLaren at C&M this weekend. My friends think I’m a bit odd!
Probably because the little Clio is more relatable to most of us than anything from McLaren.I still recall like these…I was more interested in the 172 parked next the the McLaren at C&M this weekend. My friends think I’m a bit odd!
I fired up my 182 for the first time in about 8 months on Tuesday and it started first turn of the key ( with fuel from March 2021 still in it ! ) It’s only running on 3 though, suspect no.2 injector is down, so have ordered one from Glyn Hopkins.
Remembered that I saw you back in the summer, on the 130, I was on my 1098S and you were going the other way, your 182 looked great !

You can check the resistance of the injectors, stock they should be approx 14.5ohms. If ones dicky it will soon show up. Remembered that I saw you back in the summer, on the 130, I was on my 1098S and you were going the other way, your 182 looked great !
1098S, beautiful taste sir.
Collected the new injector and whilst in the main agents parts dept, I inquired re a price of a new front windscreen and ( 3 piece ) seal kit.
When I asked last year, the price was ( from memory ) circa £140. I should have bought it then, kicking myself, but £ cash flow was tight, as it’s now NLA from Renault, what a night mare.
I’ve always found that an enthusiast parts dept staffer will go out of his way to help sourcing parts ( my Discovery parts guy is great ) but zero interest in the Renault parts dept.
Way back in 2003, whilst restoring a G plate R5 GT Turbo, via Lookers Renault, I bought the last right hand inner and outer sills in the Renault U.K. network, plus a right rear 1/4, which they got in from France for me. Not long after, the R5 Turbo was removed from the Renault parts system.
It seems that they are doing the same, to the 2001 - 2007 Clio.
Any ideas for parts sources ?

Long time no update.
For those that don’t follow my Instagram (@Its_Just_a_daily). Here’s a pic dump of the latest goings on.
In short, she’s had paint on the front due to a hit & run back in February and a sympathetic freshen up of a few key areas.
Captured some micro bubbling in the rear qtrs before they became anything more and had the sills painted and then 2 pack stone chipped. This stone chip also went into the insides of the rear arch lips.
Head lights have been swapped to black inserts from a 172 and finished off with a new grille. Not forgetting genuine grille and the £40 correct bumper decals.
Paint all done by a friend of mine Reece at VJB Classics here in Maldon.
Reasonably new business as they were part of JD Classics and decided to go out on their own last year. These 2 lads have spent the last 20 years prepping cars for Pebble Beach, Mille Miglia and Classic LeMans.
Their work is absolutely superb and I’m really pleased with the job on
Just clipped 162k miles too so she goes off to Alex at AW Motorworks for belts at the end of the month.
Oh and I put the anthracite wheels and R888Rs back on.

This is the pic for me - I've seen brand new cars not look this tidy underneath! Stunning work and a testament to what can be done when a car is looked after right... although it would take some effort to keep a daily that good up in my neck of the woods where the roads are salted around 100 days each year Cheers gents.
Paul I wish it was all like that but currently it’s just the rear arches. I’m going to semi strip the rest and stone chip the other arches though as it makes for such a clean and tough finish.
She’s in for belts at the end of the month so she’s getting a good chunk of love lately.
