OP, yours looks a nice car and all the better for "mooncaps". Good luck.
What are you having done? Engine rebuild?

Engine out to repair a chassis leg. Not what I envisaged after buying it as a Cat D. Have now sold my better one and am having to be rather patient with this one.

Great stuff OP. They are brilliant cars. I too was taken to school in a 190 on alternate days - in this case a white 2.5D. The smoothness of it all just seemed so advanced of anything that my family could afford at the time!

Just got back from Portugal. Lots of battered 190Ds over there.

My friend has been using the key in the leather pouch as the main key in his. Is it really the valet key ? I haven’t got one for mine.

If it doesn’t open the glove box then it’s the valet key!

The leather pouch is still available from MB! About £10 last time I bought one.

Looks great, the seat nets probably only need adjustment if they're not torn iirc.
They look full of holes to me.

Great thread!

Any room for a 5 pot diesel interloper?!

Great car OP, and a lovely back story.

Post a link to it in the Barge 1-5 thread; there's loads of love and info there, although some of the usual suspects have posted here too! Those seat nets are easily repairable.

A positive to driving my 190e around has been how courteous other drivers seem to be. I get let out of junctions, don’t get tailgated, people smile and look at the car. Never had that with my BMW’s!

Love the amber indicator/blue bodywork combination.
