The RS2 looks lovely; that’s a great job on it. Nice to hear that it won’t be a garage queen and will actually get used.

Loving the Aston too; dinky car, massive V12. What’s not to like?
Yes it is small, surprisingly it has a shorter wheel base length than a VW Golf

Gotta respect a bloke that keeps his workshop that clean ... you could eat your dinner off that floor!

Lovely job, now you just have the dilemma of which green meanie you are going to drive, one with 5 pots or 12..... .
Yes John, that workshop was a nice place to be and it was kept spotless, at least everytime i was in there, that shows you the quality and dedication of the workmanship of Nick and his brother.

I took the V12 up to Cheddar Gorge last night as it was nice evening and oh my word what a car that is, ive not fully opened it up yet but blimey its very quick when you ask it to be quick. hehe

Any opportunity to show it off:

The replacement for the Lotus Carlton with its stable mate:

Then up at Cheddar last night, this really shows the colour correctly

I wont post the AM on here any more as i dont want to detract from the RS thread.

for a 2 car garage, those two tick an awful lot of petrolhead boxes and even provides an element of practicality too!

Great job OP.... Done the RS2 justice. Miss my last S2 still

Closest I ever got to owning an RS2 was a fully worked S2 Avant Nothelle.

What's next for your RS2?

Hi all, thought i would give a bit of an update on the RS2 as its now been 8 months since the refurb and during this lock-down ive have had the time and the weather to just take a look at everything and give it a bit of a clean up as this car has been my daily driver since last August.

Only big issue i had with the car was that the steering always felt a bit odd when i forst got it back and it took me a while to suss out what was actually the problem, in fact i didnt suss it out a member on the S2 Forum told me to check it. What had happened was the steering arms had all been off for the refurb and the guy who did it had re-assemled them on the wrong side of the the steeering bracket, (very easily done) as thats how it looks like it should fit, anyway took about 10 minutes to unbolt and fit on the correct side and a wheel alignment carried out and steering is not spot on and feeling very precise.

So as Covid 19 approched and lock-down decided to keep us all at home and the weather has been relatively good i decided to get the car up on stands and clean it all up, plus a few other little jobs.

One job was the power steering belt had decided to invert itself and as it is the inner most belt of three aux belts driven for the crank(A/C, Alternator and Power steering) i had to get the other two off first, plus i neticed the aux radiators fins had been flattened somehow, so that needed looking at so decided to take the front off to get much better access.

So here we go, front of the car in the air:

Front of car off, after removing, foglights, indicators, underbelly tray and afew other bits:

Auxiliary belts all changed, aux radiator out of the way and to sort out those bent fins:

After 30 minutes with a pick i managed to straighten them all up and sort it out:

Next job was to take a look at the suspension, brakes and wheels to see how they have stood up to winter and to give them all a clean:

As you can see after a good old scrub up they came out quite nice again:

As you can see in the picture below, the slam panel was letting the car down somewhat, so i decided to get the compressor fired up and spray gun out:

Out with the old:

And in with the new all sprayed upand new bolts and furniture, looks like new now:

Thats about it for the time being, am going to give the interior a good seeing to tomorrow if the weather is good, the interior is in extremely good condition just that the leather hasne seen any conditioning for a couple of years, so will dig out what i have in the garage and give it a a good massage with some leather balm, might get some pictures up of that next week.

Such incredible attention to detail and an absolute pleasure to read and see pictures of the excellent work that has gone into this car in addition to that the fact it’s a daily driver AND it’s stable mate is a V12 vantage, drove one of those a few years ago, what an epic car.

I’m currently considering a B7 RS4 and was going to look at similar work albeit probably on a slightly less invasive scale.

Followed your link from the PH article, thoroughly enjoyed your thread. Thanks for sharing and seeing it all the way through.

It seems you have a great taste in cars! From what you posted I'm guessing you're fairly local to me but sadly I don't recall having seen any of them out and about. Always great to know they're around though.
