Very nice, looks a lot like mine now biggrin

The red and black interior really lifts it...It looks good with the all black transmission tunnel too smile

Any other plans for it?

Looks fab; the interior change has made a massive difference t the car overall.

I really like these but they’re a rare sight on the roads these days.

For the centre caps, I wrapped them silver and added a black logo.
Excellent, thats my plan too.

What wrap did you use? I want to get the machined look as standard. Although I'll be going with Red H logos biggrin

It still surprises me how fast it can be. I find they're very weight sensitive, which being a 6'4" powerfully (fat) built company manager obviously has an effect. But two up with a bootfull of luggage does make a noticeable difference on N/A cars.

The plans I have are to get it looking as nice as possible with some subtle mods. I believe these are proper classics now and worth looking after.

Plans are:

Wheel refurb: in progress as I write!
Attach rear spoiler
Get some decent OEM full red floor mats - £160!!! eek
Front bumper re-alignment/paint
Drivers front wing, repaint or replace
Full engine bay detail (it still looks like it does in the pics, but I've just had the stuff arrived to change that)
Rocker cover stripped and repainted in red crackle paint
Coil cover refurbished in black
Remove, refurbish and replace rear calipers
White S2000 or Honda logos on front calipers
Upgraded headunit to include bluetooth
Upgraded speakers
Modifry phone bracket/Modifry harness adaptor & remote adaptor
Replace Hood
Strip suspension, refurbish all bushes and items as required
Undercoat/seal car, especially under arches
Possibly an upgraded exhaust, but I'd like it to look stock and not be too loud, I just wish it had a slight burble/howl on acceleration but was comfortable at cruise

Personally I think i've already increased the cars value to more than it was originally advertised, having spent a fraction of that. biggrin

The original badge looks better - type-R looks too garish IMO.

Have a look at the "UK Exhaust Mod" - bit of welding to the OEM exhaust apparently makes a nice difference without adding drone (which practically all the aftermarket ones do).

It doesn't look as red as in the pictures, but I understand that, I just really like it smile

I have the original badges still and can always put them back if change my mind, or fashion them into an amusing beastie boys-esque jewellery biggrin

That's brilliant! Thanks for that, definitely something I'll be looking into.

Congrats OP the car looks wonderful and you have already improved it massively! You clearly have a good eye for these things...

It amazes me how so many of them out there have been used and abused, considering they are going up in value..

While I have been on a hunt for one I saw a 2005 model in North London, it had under 50,000 miles, 2 owners from new with circa 14 Honda dealer stamps in the book. We saw it before it went through their workshop (thankfully) it was a right dog, with every panel dented/scratched, front and back bumpers scraped, hood coming apart.. The wheels had just be re-furbed, as clearly they were trashed massively, as the centre caps terrible too.. It had an abused life, but loved the Moonstone colour!

Thankfully we have found one, as mentioned in another thread, paid a slight premium, however everything on the car stacks up with incredibly low miles and amazing condition, very few left in the country.. Your post has very much got the excitement going! Looking forward to your progress..

Thanks for the kind comments, they are great cars and need love, so its certainly a pleasure doing it.

It is a shame how many have been trashed and hard to find a good one without spending silly money, even then they can have their issues. Bodywork wise, I think i've been lucky. Yes the bumper and wing need attention, but the rest is pretty mint. I need to do a full claybar, buff, polish and ceramic coat once i've had the bits done to preserve it.

Congratulations on finding yours, got a link to the thread?

Another 'mod' arrived today, a red/chrome steering wheel badge, I wonder if I'm taking the red/black theme too far paperbag

But I do find the standard interior, especially on mine originally, very bland. I like the design, just needed some colour. I think the best modification I have done so far is the steering wheel retrim. It transforms the feel of the car for me. It's about 2mm thicker, looks good, feels great and really smartens things up inside. I highly recommend it!

I like to think that everything I'm doing is pretty much in keeping with OEM, save for a couple of badges.

I'm excited to get the car back from having the wheels done! Possibly tomorrow, if not Saturday. I need to get cracking on the center caps!

The red and black combo looks good and works well!! Our is silver with red trim, however seems to suit a roadster much better.. Link to ours below, which was sold at the previous classic dealer, did all of 300 miles since then..

I am getting a little worried about the handling on mine, given some of the stories I hear... as it is a pre-facelist car. I wonder if more more modern tyres helps it out..

Congratulations, that looks superb! Incredibly low miles too!

Put it in a bubble and leave it there 10 years, could be worth a lot!

Thanks. A few people have said that to me, however driving is the pleasure.. Looking forward to some hints and tips on yours? I keep hearing about Center Gravity for suspension tuning, a friend had his 993 done and said it transformed the car.. S2000 can benefit also?

Center Gravity are good, but very busy and very expensive (Porsche pricing wink). I've used Wheels in Motion on both of my S2000s over the years and they will sort you out for a lot less.

If you've any question, please feel free to ask, though the UK section of s2ki.com is a wealth of information.

I've had two, the first was a 2002 that died at 144,00 miles on the Kemmel Straight at Spa. The new one is a 22,000 mile 2009 garage queen.

Finally got the car back from having the wheels refurbished.

Powdercoated silver smile

Not great pics at mo, but so pleased these are done.

Rather worryingly on the drive back, I was travelling down a d/c about 70 and there was a bang from what seemed like just behind me, but nothing changed driving wise. Couldn't see anything when pulled over, and not in garage either eek

No idea what it was!

There is very little insulation between the rear wheel wells and you, anything picked up by the tyres makes one hell of a racket as it bounces off the metalwork.

I still flinch when it happens to me now..

Loved MY04 facelifted one when I had it. Miss it now. Sold it in perfect condition .

Doing a vehicle check it hasn't been taxed since August 2013 or MOT'd since Feb 2014.

When I put the details in the Autotrader it's saying CAT C with these details.....Honda S2000
Convertible (1999 - 2003) MK 1 2.0 Roadster 2dr

Hmmmmm........Wrong year, so I'm wondering if the plate has been moved to another S and that's been written off....
