Without going back a few pages, did anyone guess Mustang?
List price new was between £80k-£100k

So won't be a Mustang.

This is not acceptable business practice and I would think you’ve got the basis for a complaint here. You are owed 30k and have been given 5k so you appear to have been robbed of 25k you are rightly due.

Few thoughts:
- Don’t think the complaint is an Advertising Standards Authority one, but suspect Trades Descriptions Act (which has more teeth). Citizens Advice or a lawyer can advise.
- I believe the fact that the competition is free is irrelevant. In fact, retail competitions need to be free or else the providers have to meet Gambling legislation.
- I also wouldn’t accept the argument that “it was free, so stop complaining”. They’ve not just misled you, they’ve misled everyone who entered the competition, and gained your attention to their brand and activities under false pretences.

Personally, I would find some proof of the mention of 30k, write to the company concerned raising your issue, and ask for something specific by way of compensation eg 25k cash. I would state clearly that if they do not make good their error, then you will take legal action and put it in the public domain. Good luck!

I agree with all of the above!!

Please keep us updated OP, I am also intregued & miffed on your behalf. Nothing is 'free' and their competition probably netted them a data goldmine of names, address & interests from people who handed it in over for a chance at £30k! Very stty of them IMO!

1000% check the vehicle over with a very fine tooth comb whatever it is.

Reminds me of this story

https://oppositelock.kinja.com/hooters-waitress-se...

Which was in autocar magazine atv the time. Verbally told a Toyota, got a Toy Yoda...

(17 years on, the toy might be the better investment...)

Given the description of the company running the draw is it:

Fat Face
Old Guys Rule

Any other contenders?

I reckon we've got a hole in one....

Paddy power are pretty good at this stuff, so reckon you might get somewhere with them on social media.

That's a great prize tbh. If it's all true on their site, I don't see where the confusion is.

Yeah I’ve had a look through their twitter stuff and can’t see any £30k figures anywhere.

Now we know, care to enlighten us a bit more OP? Says in the description what it is... ‘Tiger has never owned this car, but it is the same make as the car crashed by him in 2009.
2003 Cadillac Escalade, Black, long wheel base, 5967CC, grey trim interior’

Someone making an off the cuff comment when the draw is made that the car is worth 30k is entirely different to it being advertised as being worth 30k and enducing you to enter.

I cant see it being the PP one as it clear says you will get a crash car and is specific about which one it is.

It says in the T&Cs it’ll be delivered in whatever condition it is in after removal from the billboard - that’s it above. Great advertising though hehe

Ok, ok. Top sleuthing.

Let me just say, Powerful Patrick haven't responded to my email from earlier this eve and we'll see what they come back with.

This is the initial picture for the comp

It's a MkIII escalade. I've actually won a MkII

Here is the prize draw. Based on the image, and the video below, I THOUGHT I had won a Mk3 Escalade worth 30k.

https://twitter.com/paddypower/status/115362588345...

Only to find out today, it's a 2003 worth a whole lot less.

You never know, they maybe said its worth 30k because they are going to pimp it and that's why it's been nearly a month and I still haven't got the car. So it's important to note, nothing is clear yet as the car hasn't been delivered yet.

T's and C's apply.

Which means ,we'll hand over the first and cheapest Escalade we find in the classifieds.

Reminds me of my black suv trips in NY booked via a well known app company.

Image shows a new Escalade/Suburban; what shows up is 10 years old and tatty!

I’d say the guy in the video has got a bit carried away in the valuation there!

It does say in the T&C: ‘2003 Cadillac Escalade, Black, long wheel base, 5967CC, grey trim interior’ which is never, ever gonna be worth £30k hehe

What could it possibly be ...
Just going back over the previous post to find out how the hell you guys managed to find out from so little info.

Top sleuthing Integroo!
