I agree with this take. It's not just that they've misled you, but also anyone that entered. They presumably ran the competition to gain contact info of potential customers and/or raise their business profile. They got what they wanted but they haven't delivered what they wre giving an implied promise of in return. Pretty shady way to operate a company if you ask me.
On the basis of the advert that has since come to light, I think I'd revise my opinion to say I'd just take it on the chin to be honest. It comes across as essentially a comedy contest, rather than a strong implication on value of the car. A 2003 Escalade is a 2003 Escalade. It's what they offered and what they're providing.

Sorry if that's not what you want to hear, but I don't think your grounds for complaint are too strong on this one.

ETA Also the prize draw was made from an old printer paper box, so I don't think they've put a great deal of budget into this promotion hehe

If thats the way it turns out, of course, I'll be happy. Not sure how long it would last, but I would get some fun out of it for sure.

Its only £325 tax and £420 insurance so apart from the high fuel cost, would be a cheap runaround until it breaks. The kids are gonna love it too so yes, always look on the bright side!
On the plus side you'll save money on the road tax as it's an import and only £265 a year.

My niece has a brand new one of these the Escalade ESV in New York for going to red carpet things as she is a successful model. It is stunning and huge and was about $100k. Can’t believe they were that much 16 yrs ago. That Twitter video clearly says £30k.

What can I win?
Tiger’s crashed car* as seen on the billboard near Portrush.
The car is left-hand drive; it will be delivered to the winner’s door in whatever shape it’s in after it’s removed from the billboard.
We will provide the necessary paperwork (including the log book) to the prize winner.
Prize excludes any costs associated with using the car such as motor and road taxes, NCT/MOTs, insurance, petrol and running/maintenance costs.
  • Tiger has never owned this car, but it is the same make as the car crashed by him in 2009.
2003 Cadillac Escalade, Black, long wheel base, 5967CC, grey trim interior

I dont see what the issue is. There is no mention of value on the advert/T+C's and it clearly states exactly what you've entering to win.

This car sold for £5,500 on eBay:

That is a pretty rubbish car.

EDIT: Apparently they're £93,000 new! - https://www.cadillac.co.uk/vehicles/range/escalade...

Right now we've found the car and competition... How quick to find out who Mikebentleys model niece is?

Yeah, I should have read the Ts and Cs and I mentioned that in the OP. The issue is that until today, I thought I had won a 30k car.

On the competition page when I entered, it showed a fresh looking mk3 escalade and I didn't really pay any attention and just entered.

Next thing I know, phone starts getting all these Twitter alerts. I watch the video, and realise I've just won a 30 grand car. Party time!

Then today, reality sets in. That's why my balloon feels a bit deflated today lol

Which means ,we'll hand over the first and cheapest Escalade we find in the classifieds.
Why so specific though? Surely they've already bought one if they're stating exact model year..

You are getting the one stuck in the advertising board.

Hopefully the chassis isn't bent.

Isn’t the whole point of the competition that you will receive the Escalade used for the billboard near The Open?

Which is what I said in my post on the previous page.

It’s a pretty amusing comp and a pretty amusing thing to win. I’d roll about in it for a month then punt it and be pretty happy with that result. I wouldn’t be emailing paddy power to complain that’s for sure!

OP said it’s getting checked so assume PP are ensuring it’s in decent condition. Wouldn’t be great PR if the OP was driving a dangerous car given as a prize by a high profile company.

When you say “stunning, huge and cost about $100k” I assume you mean the car?

Sorry your moaning about a car that probably doesn't even drive, because some bloke said it worth 30k, picking a name out a old box...

Surely you can get the joke.
