To be honest I can see both sides of this. On one hand, it's something free and ultimately if it was worth £100 then it's £100 more than the OP had in the first place. Complaining about it on one hand could be considered ungrateful but I don't think that's the point the OP is making.

On the flip side though, what PP have done is fire publicity around this supposed £30k prize which put simply is not worth £30k, then in the T&Cs which they know few will delve into it states the model of the car, year etc. Yes they stated the model details so the model of the car shouldn't be a surprise but it's not worth the amount they've hyped up. So I can understand that it's a cheeky move on their part!

I don't think the OP's wrong to question it, I mean why not at least ask?

I'm guessing £5k is the cost of a good condition one of these. Essentially those T&Cs state that it's the condition it's once it's taken down from that billboard. They could drop it and write the thing off then just deliver it and go, 'Your problem now mate'.

I'm not saying I'd turn down £5k but I do think there's a principle behind it.

I think that would my main concern.
OP, maybe you can check the condition of it before its unloaded and reject if its obviously scrap?! smile

I'm not 100% sure however it's the only one of a very small number that sold in the UK and the only one I found that has the same style wheels and also happens to be 2003. If it is the one the reg even nearly spells "Lucky" LU03 KVY jester
Changed my mind, I don't want it anymore. Being owned by the mob was cool but being owned by someone who writes like this is not..
Relisted coz of couple of time wasters.
price reduced for quick sale.

reg no is LU03 KVY as few ppl asked.

24" alloys.
Very clean through out.
Electric leather heated memory seats.
7 seater.
Very spacious.
Turns the heads around.
Sounds good drives smooth.
61000 kms done.
Mot till feb 2019
american muscle imported from japan.

Air con would need re gasing.
Rear parking sensors stopped working.
So many posts, can't reply to all but my God, you guys are good. Yes, this is the car I won.

Top sleuthing once again.

PP have serviced it, fixed the aircon, order parts from America, fitted them, valeted it all in getting it ready. Top marks for doing all that by the way - I just need to find a way to get it insured.

As mentioned earlier, plan was to tax it, insure it, advertise for sale but drive it while awaiting for a buyer. Still would like to find a way to do that but struggling.

I'll certainly cut a good deal if anyone on here wants it. When I see that pic (thanks to whoever found it 1st) it looks a lot better than a typical mk2 car. If you Google 2003 Cadillac escalade they dont look anywhere near as good as this one. Alloys make a big difference I guess.

Suggestions of a possible insurance co. are welcome.

Could the OP go and get an independent valuation done, take that to them and ask where they got the figure of £30k from as well?

I didn't see in the T&Cs that it stated the details of the car and that it wasn't worth £30k as they're implying that a 2003 Escalade is worth that.

All seems really off. Been an interesting thread this one. smile

After 2nd look, the alloys are upgraded, front lights, rear lights, grill, door mirrors - all upgraded. I'm now wondering if the interior has had a stereo mod or any mods under the hood.

Christ...the emotion of the last 2 days....brilliant car, st car to now, funding out it actually isn't st, it seems to have been a labour of love for the previous owner....kind of sexy in a way looking at that pic.

But still cant insure it .....aaarrgghhh!

The PH team have found the actual car and with an 8995 asking price so we're right on the ballpark of true value now.

It's been interesting thread for me too as well as really helpful. Seeing the actual 1st pics of the car I won for the 1st time on PH isn't something I was expecting - how on earth did that happen!!?? You guys seen it before I did!

I'm all excited again!

What's happened here then?

http://www.auto-buddies.co.uk/cadillac-escalade-20...

Did that dealership import and modify it (seen as the before/after photos are in the same location), then it was sold on a second time on eBay?

They just happened to have another cadillac for sale so I used that picture. It's not the same car obviously. Just showing the difference.

The interior and engine are completely standard no mods that I can see.

First two buttons move the pedals forwards and backwards lol

Look up the definition of ungrateful it would direct to this thread.

Free competition, throw away comment 30k (could be worth that who knows not even turned up yet).

For me it just smacks of pure greed, doesn't want the car just wants 30k, I don't think PP has done anything wrong just someone ungrateful won it.
