This thread is an great example of the power of the internet, privacy & human behaviour:

1. The OP posts a generic statement about winning a car which was not quite what he expected
2. Within a day the competition, company involved, car, registration number, MOT history and photographs are laid out for all to see
3. The OP has done a great job of remaining calm and not getting angry with any of the negative responses whilst thanking those who were positive

However it should be clear to anyone who thinks they can post a little item on the internet that within 24 hours the full facts will be available in perpetuity for anyone on the planet to read. Just a thought....

AXA-NI insurance - you BEAUTY!!!!

£298!!!!!

If you see me walking around dressed like Neo from the Matrix - don't be surprised biggrin

Plan is:

Tax it
Insure it
Put it up for sale but drive it while I try to sell it*

  • I already drive a barge (Volvo V90) so if this thing drives ok - I may even keep it.
Will be interesting to see what kind of stereo is fitted. If stock, I might fit an Android system. Looking into it, you can get quite a good Android stereo with back up/front up cameras for not too much money - bring the car into the the more modern era. Stereo cassette players are standard in these I think so that'll never do - needs spotify and google maps as a minumum.

It's quite alarming the amount of information available if you know how to look.

I used to trace people for a living, I'd have an address (locally or overseas) in a matter of minutes from just basic info and using only tools in the public domain. The government access must be even more frightening.

Will it have definitely been lifted by slinging the roof? Or will a jig have been used and it been lifted by the wheels?

Ah, no. Didn't know that. What if I cancel my other insurance - can I put 2 cars on the one policy - might have to do that instead....if its possible
