Kia Stinger GTS 2019
Discussion
Do you know for sure that the exhaust is actually different sounding outside of the car? The reason I ask is that I think I read somewhere (although I could be confused with a different car) that there is a fake exhaust sound piped into the cabin via the speakers as has become quite common these days.
It seems odd that at the same time as a noise reducing item like a GPF is fitted they actually manage to make it louder naturally.
Hopefully not as I would prefer a naturally louder exhaust.
Also, the Nav/Infotainment screen is a bit different on the '19 car but is the functionality or is it just the housing
Cheers

I’m sure it’s louder outside. It is a cultured V6 burble at idle (once you get over the cold start which is quite a bit louder).
On the move it is nicely judged, and sounds great bouncing off stone walls and houses in villages.
It is not a loud exhaust by the standards of some though, so depends on what you are expecting. As I say, try one.
The piped-in sounds are an enhancement of the noise the car makes and these can be set at three different levels, or completely turned off. I have mine on at the moment for fun when pressing on in winter with the windows shut (having had them off for over a year by choice), but you only hear them in Sport. In Eco or Comfort, there are no piped-in noises.

Hi Andy, yes, really easy to clean. My detailer said a top up will be needed after 12-18 months, and no reason to doubt him yet!
Yep, have seen the popular badge mods in the US. Lots here doing it too. My thinking is more along the lines of “Why try to hide the fact that it’s a Kia?” I actually think the Kia badges look great.
A freer-flowing air filter as a start is something I thought of. Simple and shouldn’t affect warranty. Need to do some research......

Thanks ZX!
Wheels do make a huge difference to look of the car. I prefer the ones on your second video.
I may change the wheels if the OEM ones start to delaminate / pick up the white worm. They are pretty good so far approaching two years old to be fair.
Have followed a few YouTubers modding Stingers, but keeping the long warranty is a must for me. The K&N videos are great though (thanks) and that is a tempting simple and effective mod. Just need to consider the warranty impact I guess. Wouldn’t want the faff of putting the old filters etc back in for each service....

Speak to Kia in the states they're not revoking the Warranty if you have a cold air intake fitted.Wheels do make a huge difference to look of the car. I prefer the ones on your second video.

I'm edging ever nearer to committing on one of these.
One long term test complained of a pulsing feeling from the brake pedal from day one. Ever noticed that? And a rattling rear hatch?
Too minor to put me off as every car will have its quirks

Hatch rattle was early cars. Sorted by Kia long ago I believe.

I have a GTS and the pulsing throught the brake pedal started at around 4000 miles and 7mths old. It seemed to start shortly after a car pulled out in front of me causing me to do an emergency stop. The forums tell you how to 'clean' the discs and whilst this helped the pulsing was still there. Kia replaced the discs and pads all round under warranty and they have been fine over the last 4000 miles. One long term test complained of a pulsing feeling from the brake pedal from day one. Meant to ask for any links to the badge mods mentioned? Sad I know but, hey, I'm also sad enough to have a few private plates I rotate through my cars
Just search Kia Stinger on YouTube - lots have done the badge mods, so you will find videos easily. dunc69 said:
A month of crud cleaned off in the drizzle yesterday, now sun out today! Love this angle!
Happy 2021! Hoping to start on some subtle upgrades this year, but without affecting warranty.
Suggestions welcomed.
Cheers.
