Kia's technology really is cutting edge. Stinger appealed to me partly because it's got the adaptive cruise, lane keeping, blind spot warning and (and this kills ze germans stone dead) ALL as standard in the UK. Speccing a 4 Series up to Stinger level means adding thousands onto the base price.
'21 model looks interesting... some great additions there. I'd still like to own a Stinger. Can't get my head around why more people don't buy them.
Andy I was looking a C43 estates this morning as there may be a smallish family dog incoming in the nearish future (cocker spaniel). To match the Kia in terms of spec is looking very pricey indeed, just as you say.

So, I think the dog will be fine in the hatchback if I take the parcel shelf out!! Besides, the Stinger is bigger inside than the C. It feels about the same size in the cabin / width / shoulder / leg room-wise as my brother’s E class.

Stick with the Stinger! Doggie will fit! I had an A7, now got a Tesla Model S - both are very Stinger shaped and fit our cockerpoo just fine with dog guards over the back seat - although if I remember correctly there wasn't a Stinger-specific guard available approx 12m ago when I was looking.

Thanks Andy. Good to know.

When you say dog guard, you mean between the back seats and roof to prevent the dog jumping over into the back seat area?

If you look at dimensions, the Stinger is actually nearer in size to a 5 series or an E than a 3 or C and is pretty much the same weight. Which makes them even better value!

Thanks had ham, so as I thought. I think I looked at dimensions right at the start when I was doing my research before buying!

Yep, you’re right Andy, if I know the ladies in my family, the first sign of a puppy whining would lead to exactly that... “let’s bring the dog into the car!”

Mines another red one, this is my favourite colour for a car, my previous car a Lexus was similar, but this has way more toys and I'd say is as good as the Lexus quality wise. Thats where the simularity ends, this car is a beast.

They are stunning in the red! They look incredible in the flesh as it’s such a deep colour!

Enjoy it Vince, a beast yes, but a civilised one!

Lovely. Cream seats too - quite rare.

So, 2 year service today - major service including brake fluid.

Everything good, apart from rear tyres down to 2mm, but I knew that!

In relation to the sunroof rattles, Kia technical have asked them to grease the front door seals - yes, I know, and the service staff and probably the master tech were chuckling too.

They have already told Kia that this has not solved the issue and I am booked in for a few days (with courtesy car) at the end of March. I await Kia technical’s expert next guess......

The only other thing I was worried about was front pad wear, but these are only still at only 60% worn after 19200 miles. Pretty pleased with that as new front pads are well north of £300 fitted for the pair. Yes, you read that right, just the pads!

I called my Indy this morning as they only ever fit Brembo pads anyway, and they discovered that only Kia can source Stinger brake pads at the moment. How convenient. So, my Indy can source and fit them for £336 (incl VAT). Eek!

Oh well, it’s a fast, heavy car, so it is what it is.

The roof isn’t too bad at the moment due to the cool weather and rain, so just hoping it’s sorted or improved before summer. I am listening to the radio or tunes 90% of the time anyway, so can put up with it.

Still love everything else about this car!!

Currently in a 2019 VW Tiguan R-Line on PCP that I had considered buying at the end of my deal, but I'm not really sure if I want to own an expensive diesel in a few years time. As I'm doing significantly less miles than I'm paying for I can pretty much get out of my deal within a few months, more than 2 years before it ends. Currently torn between two very different options for my next daily driver, either make the hop to electric early (very keen on a Polestar 2), or enjoy something a bit fruitier for the next few years while I can - the Stinger GTS is very high on my list. The only thing putting me off is I really love the practicality of my Tiguan (even if I don't use it most of the time), and was quite keen on a fast estate, sportback etc.

Nevertheless the Stinger is a very attractive prospect, and such a good looking car!

These look great and really appeal to me.
How firmly sprung are they? Just aware that sometimes these hardcore variants are unbearable as dailys.

The Stinger boot isn’t large when measured, but it’s a long and wide space, just not deep in height. It’s surprisingly practical and the rear seats folding down leaves a huge space.

They have electrically adjustable suspension. Eco and Comfort modes are really comfortable. The long wheelbase helps give a smooth ride too. Mine is a daily and it’s easily comfortable enough, dealing with road imperfections quietly and easily. My Octavia vRS was much noisier tyre roar-wise and with a crashier ride too.

Sport and Sport+ are much firmer through.

So a great daily that can really change its character for some fun at the flick of a switch.

I’ve come from a Lexus IS300h and I’d say the Stinger is as good comfort wise, and it has less wind noise and tyre noise than the Lexus. You know you want to.

Wow Vince, that’s impressive considering Lexus’ image and reputation for luxury.

My virus scanner won't let me near that site, warnings about it being a trojan.
