First impressions the exterior looks stunning - I think Id be left deflated once I opened the door though, all subject to personal opinion but the interior puts me right off. I couldnt live with it.

What’s wrong with it? Looks pretty nice to me.

Just adding myself as another fan of these - I think I spotted one late last year or earlier this year on the A3 and I was very taken by its looks - the spec is astonishingly good and the top-spec petrol biturbo car seems to be the perfect choice.

Really? I’ve not sat in one but it doesn’t look that bad at all.

Sit in one guys. The interior is pretty fine!

Might not be quite Audi or MB standards, but it’s 2/3 the price of them for the engine and toys on offer.

Also, coming from a Skoda Octavia, it’s easy to see why I am very pleased.....

On top of that, I bought a 4 1/2 month-old demonstrator with less than 2k miles on it and got 21% off list.

And the V6 is sublime.........

Most Kia dealerships have a Stinger in the showroom.
Go and treat yourselves to a poke around. Costs nothing and might be enlightening!

ETTO of course.

I’ve had an Octavia vRS (2015) and didn’t think the interior was all that bad. A few crappy plastics here and there, but it’s worn it’s 83k well having had bikes lobbed in it, a toddler who treated it like a climbing frame, dump runs etc.

People bh about the i30N interior, but I didn’t find it all that offensive.

My last Octy vRS was great. I had three of them. All petrols.

No idea about the i30N interior, but it’s obviously a brilliant driver’s car!

The Stinger interior is the best I’ve had. Beautiful to look at, every possible toy too.

There are a couple of creaks (driver’s window and sunroof) that I’ve asked the dealer to look at when it goes in for service on Thursday but, no rattles, and a fabulous, mellifluous V6 to brighten every journey.

In fact, new or used, I’ve never known a car that was totally creak or rattle free and didn’t need some fettling (I am a perfectionist) but, once sorted, all should be well!

Loving the ownership experience thus far!

Just back from first oil and check-over service (6 months since 1st March registration date)

Creaking window solved, fingers crossed for good.
Sunroof also quiet. We’ll see.

V6 sounding as good as ever though!!

So, the, admittedly mild, sunroof creak is not resolved.

I find myself asking what I should expect in a £40k car.
But, in reality, a sunroof that creaks (even quietly) on uneven surfaces isn’t on. It’s not a rattle. These can be sorted. It’s a rubber on rubber or rubber on metal creak.

I found myself looking at 540i saloons and estates (2018 c. 20k miles) today for similar money to what I had spent on the Stinger. Even though I went through all that when deciding what to buy.

Then, I headed into Bristol listening to a combination of Test Match Special and, during the tea break, Heart Dance, on the Harmon / Kardon whilst in Sports Mode to pick up the kids, and fell in love with the car again.

The looks from others, the V6 twin-turbo pace and noise, and the special feeling of driving something a bit different all helped!

Then when I got home, I had an email from the Kia Service Manager. ‘When can you bring it in?’ (Answer Tuesday). ‘Bring it in early and we can have it all day trying to sort the sunroof and, if necessary, getting on to Kia to find a solution’.

Faith (and car love!) restored for now!

Fingers crossed for a solution.

Good to hear that they’re taking the creaking seriously. Pretty sure that BMW won’t give a st when I take my M140 back because the windows / doors creak.

Such a great looking car, so much want (I'd have your paint colour, but red leather!)

I hear you buddy! Insist on it! Did you buy new?

A creaking car (especially an expensive one) isn’t right.
“Fix it or take it back” is where we should be!

My last two cars have been Octavia petrol vRSs. The first one was new, the second 2 years old. Neither had any rattles or creaks. Enough said I reckon. You and I should both expect more!

Good luck getting it sorted!!

Thanks, very kind. I originally wanted the red leather, but my daughter (13) and wife veto’d it! “We’d look like porn stars getting out of it!” They had a point to be fair.

My son (11 yrs) was all over red, but I found one with black leather and haven’t regretted it. It looks epic inside and the grey stitching matches the outside.

Planning to keep the car for a long time, so also worried that the red leather fascination would wear off!

Either way, awesome, powerful and different motor!

Funny you say that but we've a Superb 272 Sportline Plus (£40k car) March 19 reg with just 4k on the clocks, and it has a buzzing driver's side door...mad

Still a bit annoyed we never went to look at these, but the wife is happy so that counts for a lot! laugh

I was very tempted by the Superb 280 / 272. The Sportline looks great.

But coming from an Octavia 2014 vRS 220 with Black Pack, ultimately it would have been almost like getting the same again, looks-wise.

The Superb is a much faster, more grown up car than the Octy though.

After several Skodas over 10 years, I fancied a change. I was also getting increasingly fed up with the Skoda dealers. They have gone from mainly small, family firms to arrogant, big dealerships with little customer focus.

I hope you enjoy your 272 though. Great cars with huge space! Good luck getting the door sorted.

Cheers. Luckily I live the car so am happy to cut it a wee bit of slack, but it is starting to grate a wee bit.

It’s been back once already but that was sorted in about five minutes...the microphone had some loose to phone calls were impossible. They’d seen a few like that.

Looking at used versions, it looks like depreciation is around 25% for the first year - 19 reg, 4k miles £30,000. Kind of suggests some decent discounts should be available for new.?

Yep, that’s about right. I got mine at 4 1/2 months’ old with 2k miles and 21% off.
