Bobberoo’s Ford Fetish Thread (Warning: Contains Peanut)
Discussion
Thought this might entertain a couple of people, after replacing all the suspension and brakes on my Focus estate for uprated items, Bilstein B4 shocks and Eibach springs, Mintex discs and pads all around, Mrs Bobbers is driving it today, I asked what she thought of the way the car drove now..................
She couldn't tell any difference, but apparently it "feels easier to park"!!!

Well Peanut is back, £279 which included a replacement bulb, but they noted perished front tyres and a lightly misted rear shock, wondering if the shock is covered by the warranty.....
Generally, the warranty excludes shocks and any suspension components as they are wear and tear items. Usually extends to the powertrain excluding clutch system and electrical/body.So, on Monday Rio went in for a mini service and oil and filter change, no issues to report, then on Tuesday he went to a friends bodyshop for some bits to be be done, he's home, he's been fettled and is looking spiffing, he's gone from this,
To this!!
And from this,
And this,
To this!
And finally, my choice to have the tailgate debadged and a small blemish taken care of!
Really pleased with the quality of work, next up is deciding whether to have him remapped at Christmas....

A bit of an update, decided to treat Rio to some bonnet lifters!!! When it was delivered I got all excited thinking it was a giant Toblerone!!
I bought a set from NB Styling for £71.40 delivered, set contains 2x rams, 2x upper/hinge brackets, 2x lower wing mounted brackets, 4x ball sockets and 2x captive nuts and bolts.
Fitting requires moving both the expansion tank and fuse box out of the way, and it's easier to do the bonnet brackets if you have either three arms or a helper!!!
Luckily for me my neighbour popped over and helped, which was excellent news after I dropped one of the bonnet nuts down the side of the wing!!
Luckily it wedged about an inch and a half down between the inner wing and the water bottle!!
Some wriggling around with a long reach set of pliers saw it retrieved and put back where it belongs!!
The lower brackets slot into a part of the inner wing and then the captive nut is fed into an oval hole further up the wing, you insert a small Allen key in a hole in the bracket through into a hole in the captive nut to stop it spinning, clever!!
Once bolted in, you remove the hinge nuts from one in the hinges, utilising your third arm/neighbour/pet monkey to hold the bonnet steady you slide the upper bracket onto the two captive bolts and tighten the nuts back on!!
And this is the result!!
