Its collection daybouncedriving

Been up since 3am due to the excitement, can't wait see this finally finished, only slight downside is that the decals have had to be postponed for 2 weeks due paint curing, as the ceramic clearcoat takes a little longer to cure than normal.

Thanks again for all the comments, I'll be back soon with some shiny pics
I know you want to get your vinyl on ASAP, and 2 weeks sounds like it ‘should’ be enough time for it to cure, but be doubly sure before you stick anything on the paint.
After 2 weeks there’s usually still some drying to do, especially with the crap weather we’re having.
The solvents can be barely perceptible until you trap them in with a layer of vinyl and they start to affect the adhesive on the back of it. If that happens you’ll have issues with them either lifting, shrinking leaving a glue silhouette, or bonding almost permanently to the paint.

The car looks amazing even without any decals.

I might have missed your plan for it; what designs are you going for?

Thanks buddy, infact after chatting with the body shop today they have told me that around 6weeks minimum is the full curing for the paint, so I'm going to delay the decals for 8weeks or so to be double sure its ok.

OK so here goes.

Collection went as planned, although the weather was not on my side, I was still extremely excited and yet a little nervous to see the car finished, we pulled into the carpark and BOOM!!! there she was, sitting in the brief sunlight and the paintwork glistening with gold flake.
This is the first time I have actually seen the car out in the sun, its only now that I realised just how imposing she looks, the bodywork is absolutely flawless, the extra wide stance of the car combined with the colours really compliment each other in more ways than I thought, the 3 stage pearl makes light bounce off the curves and new body lines.

Now my wallet has been through battle its time for the long drive home, Long in the sense that the M23 was closed so I had to detour via A/B roads. As soon as I pulled away I noticed an immediate difference in the way the car feels, the ride is amazingly smooth and far less crashy than with the stock wheels, this may be due to extra height on the sidewalls combined with 4 inches of extra rubber on the rear, she also turns into the corners much faster with less body roll yet still far smoother than before... I'm so glad I decided to cancel the coilovers as I feel it would have been a waste of cash.. time will tell on that front once I've got used to the way she drives now, but atm I'm very impressed with the way the car sits and drives.

The roads were extremely damp and greasy with puddles washing across the roads like rivers, Powering out of the corners was extremely satisfying, She now feels really sure footed with loads of grip, Into the corners was my first surprise, out of the corners is even more impressive.. it just grips and goes..

Now with any full project where the car has been completely stripped you would expect the odd rattle when put back together?.... Not in this case, the cabin is whisper quiet. road noise has been reduced and there was not a rattle or squeak for 60 miles of typical British roads.

The guys at Golding Barn garage have done an outstanding job with this car... the whole project has been done by hand from start to finish and they have exceeded all my expectations... Thank you Golding Barn Garage for the amazing job you have done and attention to detail in every aspect of this project.

I still have some bits to do to the car, the 507 decals will be fitted in a few months when the Ceramic clearcoat has fully cured, then it will be Ceramic coated to help maintain that Truly amazing paintwork.

Thank you for all the comments and feedback, I've really enjoyed sharing this project with you all, I look forward to meeting you all some car shows and meets in the future.

Sorry about the poor picture quality taken from my Brick of a phone, these pics do not do the car any justice at all, The garage have taken some better Pics of the car and will share those when they send them over...

I’m pretty sure this paint leaves an after image when I close my eyes it’s so bright haha. Car looks amazing.

Make sure whoever does your vinyl uses top quality cast vinyl, no calendered rubbish.
If when they fit it you get any scratches from the squeegees or whatever (application tape ‘should’ prevent that) a quick waft over with a heat gun should get rid of them.

Me again.... woke this morning eager to get the car properly cleaned... The bodyshop are great but they can't clean a car for toffee..
I love detailing my car as much as driving!! The car isn't going anywhere for a good few weeks as I want the paint to cure fully to help avoid stone chips.
1st up was the Interior detail, its was filthy with bodyshop dust, grease marks etc, the steering wheel and gear knob were in desperate need of a clean too.
The whole process inside took me 4hrs including the upholstery and carpets/mats etc.

Now with inside finished I set about cleaning the outside, This wasn't a wheels off detail due to the paint still being soft and wanting to avoid any accidental damage.
Thankfully I ceramic coated the wheels before they were fitted, this made them an absolute breeze to clean, Mixed up some Citrus Prewash a light spray over each wheel, I used a detail brush for the faces and rinsed off... peachy!!!

Now with the wheels and arches cleaned, its time for the paint.. this was the part I was most excited about, we all have our wash methods, My favourite methods are the 1bm Multi Mitt and Nbm multi mitt, Today I went with the 1bm, filled my detail bucket with Carbon Collective Lusso Shampoo, and 8 Noodle wash mitts and let them soak while the prewash was doing its thing on the paint. Rinsed off and ready to go... 1 mitt per panel to minimise and marring on the soft paint.
1 last rinse down then out with the car blower and my trusted Klin Duo drying towels.

VOILA!!!!!!

Your car looks great.

Why didn't the body shop detail your car?
You shouldn't have to clean their dust out.

cheers matey,

TBH I think its just that the bodyshop aren't equipped for full detailing, they vacuumed it out, but dust will always settle again, I have very high standards and its not something I expected them to do and would have done it again anyway

Awesome result, how it should've looked from the factory, looks wild but without looking like a max power leftover!

OP - that’s a great result.

Looks bloody great. You should be pleased (and financially broken) I’m sure.

Love that.

Very nice.
Am I the only one who thinks it'd be even better with silver wheels?

No buddy, it has been mentioned by others too... I just thought black would go better with the calipers in Bronze.
