Me again.

Some small updates!!!!!! The whole car has been finished in paint and now starting to go back together... Now don't be too critical yet guys, it looks like way too much green atm, but once all the black parts go back on and the glass goes back in it will look stunning.

I've also decided to keep the original factory Chrome trims, badges and emblems instead of wrapping them black as despite the car having a wide arch conv, I still want everything else to be factory finish where possible.

Here's some pics for you.
Thanks again for the interest guys

Thanks guys. Again all your comments are appreciated.

As for chrome, i was really torn with this, but some of the chrome parts would look terrible in black, and others can't be painted and not happy wrapping them, if i do decide to change them when the car is back together I'll have to look into it some more. But as i said I'm the beginning, I wanted this to look as a factory finish car, so that means keeping the chrome.

Now as for chargers, I'm looking into both ESS and wiestech kits durabilty, reliability and how the extra performance would impact the engine and box long term, but it would have to wait till next winter.. But still undecided

Love all the work you have done to this. So bold and so cool.

Are you keeping the wheels black? Seeing as you are keeping the chrome, an anthracite or just silver may go really well!
Here the wheels buddy....

Thanks again for the interests guys... It's been a real pleasure doing this build, and seeing it develop from a picture in my mind to a real car.
As for shadow chrome.. Again you can't. Just change parts of the chrome as it would look like a halfway house. The door handles are factory chrome with green inserts and this can't be changed so changing the other parts wouldn't match. And this is why i decided that the best way to get close to factory look would be to stick with OEM.

[quote=Alias218]That looks fantastic. I’ll admit I was a little dubious when the thread started but not anymore.

Your mot the only one fella, and i suspect that there are dozens more thinking the same.

This is another reason why i have gone so far with the project. Doing any project like this where you are making drastic changes to OEM cars is either all or nothing, the risks of getting it wrong are greater.

I also understand that its not everyone's cuppa tea and chosen flavour, but this brew has been poured for me, and I'm the only one that has to drink it....... And drink i will.

Going down to see the car in person today to check on the finer details and will pop up some more details later
Thanks again guys

Hey guys

Went back down today for a visual, the car is looking fantastic,
The calipers have been fitted back on the car along with new discs and pads.

New OEM windscreen fitted along with the rear OEM windows.

I also managed to Get a better pic of the engine bay... And realised that the suspension mounts were still silver, so they are being painted satin black to blend into the engine bay.

Next up on The list is for the paint to be compound polished and then all the remaining trims can go back on.

I can't take all the credit guys. its the team at Golding Barn Garage that's done the work so far.

And they have been amazing... the attention to detail in everything they have done is incredible.

My part has only been the colour choices, wheels, brakes etc

Hey buddy, nice car.. Fire Opel red?, no too many if them about, I did infact consider doing the car red untill I found the right green. It's amazing How the slightest differences in shades can alter the overall look of the car

Thanks got the interest... I've not had much from other 507 owners. They are probably screeming at the pics with rage!!!!

The engine looks much better when you see it with the rest of the car. I wasn't sure at first, and then thought sod it. It's not visible to anyone else, and its only plastics that can be reversed back to oem.
