I’m not a fan of the ‘extreme’ side of the JDM scene (ridiculous stance, excessive lowering, stretched tyres etc). This, on the other hand, looks great, and much cooler than the mainstream JDM stuff. biggrin
haha! thanks, it is an interesting thing to own.

the rubber boot liner with big "crown" logo helps.

Lovely car, so interesting.

I would have thought the value of these would be much higher, surprised to see someone mention 5k.
They can be had for under 4k, mine was under 4k smile mind you it did need full suspension refresh but not bad either way.

There is a very rare even in Japan athlete VX for sale on eBay..

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

These are the top of the top when it comes to jzs171 and fiddled by Yamaha, limited run of 300...and 300+ bhp smile would love that.

Looks bloody good! And the Skyline too.
Cheers mate! How's the century doing?

I think black is a hard colour to keep nice especially over time, I had to get the Skyline resprayed before selling though I had an excuse in the end as someone drove into it and then drove off!! furious

Oh yeah, black shows every little blip.. ideally this needs bonnet, boot resprayed and full car corrected

It very much does, I am even glad my Crown is white despite how dirty it gets. If you're anywhere near Southampton I can recommend you the guy that did the Skyline the paint match was incredible on such an old car.
To be fair that pearl white is a great colour smile looks amazing in sun.

Taking about dirt..

A week after washing :|

Is there any point at this time of year 👀

I'm not sure it is but I still do it. Just had the MOT done and it passed no advisories smile They also cleaned it which immediately meant it rained that night...

Pearl white does look amazing in the sunshine biggrin But doesn't look as Yakuza as black.
Awesome! Another year on the road smile

I had a chip right on my windscreen yesterday, straight in the a zone and MOT failure point.. windscreens can't be found anywhere and some aftermarket from Japan will cost big money to ship frown

Had it repaired with resin but it's not fully gone. Won't crack further and is less visible but it's there.

Anyway, while my winter wheels are on I have been slowly getting things done on the SSRs.

The idea was to split them, get centres professionally refurbished and remove as much of the curb rash as I can from the dishes and polish them to a mirror finish.

They won't look perfect but it'll be much more presentable! I have done one wheel to see how things go and took a few pictures.

One 80% done and a 3 more to go smile hoping to have them together by end of march. - only got time at the weekends to sand them and polish but it'll get there.

Looks so good! Caught your 7 seconds appearance on AdamC's video on yourtube. Car looks great on those wheels, although your refurbed ones look so good. Thinking of putting some 19's on mine, think if I get the right size I can keep the standard suspension setup smile
Haha, my 7 seconds of fame ! smile I still don't know if I like the wheels... They're growing on me and if they were in good condition I'd be quite okay with them! They're alright now for the winter but I can't wait to finish my SSRs and get those back on!

Yea you can get away with standard suspension or maybe just some lowering springs.

Really like them, the barge sits on them so well cool

I have to say though, I like the style of the Bola’s too
Thanks smile

I do like the bolas, didn't at first but they've grown on me.

I will probably refurbish them over summer and have them as winter wheels again.

Yeah man, SSR Professor style smile Better than those awful bolas wink
haha bolas do alright for winter wheels! 19s with stiff springs are not comfortable. 18s ride so much better.

they're SSR AGLE Premium

Hey Grudas

I stumbled across your thread after I've literally just bought this fresh import from Japan.

Like you've said in a previous post mine is a Yamaha edition Crown VX 1/300, I'm from down your way too so it'd be nice to get them out together one day too I think!!

I did see that for sale! Good buy, looked in great condition. I'm not going to lie I'm a bit jealous, VX is the ultimate jzs171! Not that crowns are common sight in UK but a VX is rare in Japan too!

I am down in West Sussex near Gatwick.

Would be great to get them together, mine is not as good condition as yours but that's not the point 👍
