Left side outer sill, floor and chassis rail. All i will do here is clean up any surface rust and re under seal. Il pump Waxoyl into the chassis rails etc.

Pristine spare wheel well. These are allways rotten on UK cars.

The new Hi Spec 4 pot alloy callipers ( these are half the weight of the OE steel callipers ) and the 290 mm vented drilled discs arrived yesterday, along with the single leaf rear springs, Spax front inserts and lowered / uprated coil springs. Still waiting for the rear Bilstein Sports to arrive. Thinking i should have gone with a Bilstein or Koni front insert though.

My 2.0 Sport was stolen from the Castle Pub car park one Saturday evening in 1986. Went to report it at Woodford Police Station, the PC sat at the desk said 'Have a drive around the Broadmead, someones probably nicked it to get home!" Suffice to say a mate drove me around but it wasn't there. It was found stripped out in Forest Gate a couple days later frown
Sorry to hear that, really feel for you. Re Woodford nick, my pal with the Red TR6 spent the night in the cells after totalling it whilst driving pissed, the idiot.
Re the Broadmead estate, agreed !
Coincidence, but my sapphire blue 3000E KMK 845K was stolen from outside Grays tires in Forest Gate in circa 1984, I swapped it with a pal for a re spray on my first TR-6, he then sold it on to a fitter @ Grays, sadly it was never seen again.

Another pal bought a gorgeous blue stolen recovered 3 Litre GXL. It had been stolen and left in a quiet dead end street outside an old lady's house in Ilford. It sat there for 18 months until she eventually rang Plod !

He writes for PPC now. That (lovely!) Capri was sent in to a garage for work, and while there the garage went on fire, taking the Capri with it. Great shame. In some of his articles he has said how long and so much trouble it has been to get an insurance pay for it.
Omg that's bloody terrible !! I had no idea that happened to it. Hope he gets paid out.

This takes me back. I lived in Wanstead in the early eighties and remember all this. I'm sure I remember the capri with the 289 registration plate too? I wondered if it had a ford 289 v8 at the time.
Small world, wonder if it was EVC 289L ? My ex pal who I bought it from, bought it in early 81 ( from another mutual pal in Chingford, who in turn bought it from Steve of Woodford Green ) his then g / f lived in Ilford, so the car would have been in the area and he also used to go to Quicksnacks burger stand, outside Whips X hospital in it.
I only had it for almost 7 months, Jan - July 82. I swapped it in Croydon @ a Horse Traders for a 70 Damson TR6, with a bent chassis, they saw me coming a bloody Mile away!!
I saw it in the Deprford area about 18 months later, I span arround and gave chase, but sadly lost it in the traffic. Bitterly regrett ever selling that 3000GT......

I do really fancy the RS2600 / 3100 look, it's the one Capri that I've never owned. Love the gold stripes and the spoilers that the RS got. Plus of course the black bumpers ( chrome here )

If my one wasn't already Daytona yellow, I really fancy the Scarce Purple 73 / 74 Ford colour. I think that there is only 1 surviving 3.0 GXL in this colour. It was @ the NEC about 5 odd years ago.

The front and rear RS spoilers turned up the other day. Will look fab once fitted, but the rear duck tail is a poor moulding, so I’m sending it back to exchange it for hopefully a better one.
It’s been years since I’ve been up close to an RS Capri, so I’m not sure how the rear duck tail attaches to the boot lid. The supplier suggested some stuff called Tiger Seal.

Front chin spoiler is secured with nuts and bolts. The fribreglass front spoiler doesn’t come pre drilled. I will paint it satin black. The MK1 Capri really does need these two spoilers as front end lift is considerable @ high speeds.
