Good luck with the trip, appropriately named tyres given the likely weather conditions wink

Glad to see the old girl keeps on trucking.

And trucking she still is - a small pot of filler on the downpipe to exhaust joins (to be fixed properly next year) and through the MOT with just an "engine cover fitted". My Man noted a tiny amount of PS fluid on the rack, so that was tidied away before the test.

So, onward. Cam belt needed next ish. Japex quoted ~£950 using all Lexus parts, want the car for two days to do a proper job (incl water pump), and seem to know their stuff. I'm now getting a price from the local dealer, based on a suggestion from the barge thread, will compare, contrast, and decide.

So. Cam belt done today at the local dealer. £745 including a set of wiper blades, and a checkover revealing the car is mostly in good shape with the driver's side rear suspension arm showing some ball joint play (£658ish for a new arm) so needing work at some point, and a minor engine oil leak betwixt engine and box.

Currently sitting at 264,720ish miles.

Good service from the dealer; mildly disappointed at the courtesy CT200h wasn't a bit nicer, quieter or more economical.

Still, that's the cam belt done for the next five years.

In a completely non-tedious way, the car keeps trucking.

Aside from being the weapon of choice for essential journeys during lockdown, the car has been called into action to be property viewing transport. At 500+ miles per day trip, and six trips so far, it's been going pretty well.

A coolant leak was traced back to a hose clamp needing tightening, and the transmission fluid has been changed. While the latter seems to have finished off the box in my W124, it seems to have had a mildly positive effect here.

I just need a tablecloth for my picnic bench.

So - an update!

The car hasn't had as much use in the last few months as when house-hunting up to July, but all has been relatively okay.

Rear arches are showing a little more bubbling, so that's something to get sorted next year.

My Man has had a look at the exhaust today, in advance of the MOT being due. Thankfully he'd confused my car with someone else's so, instead of needing to buy a bundle of bits to replace sections, there's just this joint to clean up and seal.

Shame it'll be quieter once done.

One of the upper suspension arms is showing some movement in a ball joint, so that's on order. £115ish for Febi Vs £500ish for genuine Lexus.
