So having 2 weeks off over, no kids etc meant lots of garage time, the 5 second video shows the culmination of that work. Might not look like a lot bit it was lol.

https://flic.kr/p/2i9NZVA

Turns out the person before me must have used an ECU that didn't see the auto box loom, the Link, being a direct plug in, sees all the looms so the car thought the auto box was still in Drive, inhibiting the start signal. That and for a reason I cant fathom, a wire to the start solenoid was cut and heat shrinked back. I've up to this point, checked all the earths, fitted more, changed the starter motor (which is a bit of a pain in the ass) then unwrapped all the tied back gearbox wiring only to find the neutral start bypass wasn't done.

Winner. So, onward!

And speaking of ECU's, aint that a bh.

Apparently the guy who mapped it can be a little 'prickly' and 'unhelpful' but I've sent an email asking for the password.

Spent the rest of the holiday running in fuel lines, sorting the tank out so now have a very healthy 50psi of static fuel pressure.

Also have voltages at all the important places, it turns over, so once I get access to the ECU can start setting things up ready for first start!!

Thinks I need at this point - Exhaust system and engine oil cooler pipework smile

Fantastic car OP. thumbup

I've always loved these since I got a passenger ride in one around a damp Brands Hatch at a track day back in the 90s.

Just gutted they have always been above my budget, and look like continuing to climb!

But I'm looking forward to your updates.

Thanks very much smile The market is ridiculous, the spares market even more so, I sold my immaculate stock car early last year, and now the same car is probably 3-4 grand more now! People charging 800 quid for wheels they'd skip 5 years ago etc.

But yes I'll keep updating as I go

I take it your the same guy on Mkivsupra.net ?

Its interesting to see what people have tried to do with these cars before, i suppose it is one of the things that happen when they bottomed out 5/6 years ago

Yes that's me smile I've never been one to go for body kits, especially some of the ones you see about. The Mk4 has such a pure shape anything stuck on just detracts from that. And also can hide some real nasties!

Excellent update! Love the casual way 600 can be talked about with these cars. Happy New Year! smile

It is crazy, a stock, unopened engine with fuelling mods can do 700+ hp no problems, so a lightly strengthened engine will be perfectly safe at 600 smile

Not a lot in the way of updates due to work and other projects. But it always was a slow burner. Stripped and rebuilt the clutch master cylinder, bled the clutch and that works, sorted the fuel line routing underneath and tucked the tank away. Still think I need an after market pump hanger with AN fittings. To be continued....

Spend 50 quid on a USB cable. 50 quid. 50 f*****g quid!! Makes me so mad for what is essentially a fivers worth of cable, but I was scuppered without it. At least I can now tweak the map and hopefully get it running.

Also bagged these 17" rear wheels, for *drum roll* 50 quid! Given the current market for stock Supra parts and how rare big rears are, people would probably pay 10 times that. Plan is to get them banded to 10.5" to help put the power down and keep the OEM look

Next stage is to start sorting pipe work, vac lines, start finalising where things sit and hopefully go for launch!

Really, Craig? I have a few spare sets of 17s lying about, and I can't use all of them on the Soarer. Looks like it's time to tidy the garage and get over to the Supra forum classifieds. smile

Oh yeah! A matched set of 17s front and wider rears will be easy 600 quid now, depending on condition. Very much in demand

If you have extra parts which you don't need, sell them. It would be a very helpful thing to do for many owners.

Sounds like you are making good progress OP.
The Supra is an amazing platform for tuning.
I took my old UK-spec TT6 only to BPU+ with about 420bhp and felt that was enough for the road. With you going for 600bhp it should feel quick even against the modern era of performance cars.

Jealous, Supra is one of my all time favourite cars.
