...oh and the 4.6is decided to throw an air suspension code this morning...
Better get it to the dealer... oh...To be fair, turning it off - getting out and walking around it checking the height on the corners whilst cursing it, the weather, BMW and a couple of passing pheasants - getting back in and restarting it seems to have cured that.

Update time again...
The X5 has had yet another software update, this time to the EME which I am assured has cleared the problems. I did ask how many were having so many issues in a short time period and got told "it's unusual"... I'm not convinced they, (BMW) really have the first clue as to route cause - they are just patching around the issues I think.
Lets see how long it lasts this time....
Random F-Pace review:
It was a 2.0d, 2wd auto "r-sport".
This has to be the worst engine/gearbox combination I have experienced, at slow speeds and partial throttle it is either gutless or drops you onto full boost.
Power is adequate and economy seems good. (Did a 300mile trip and was getting c40mpg)
The interior? Oh dear. I test drove a 3.0 F-Pace at launch and it was a fantastic place to sit with great materials... this R-Sport felt cheap and nasty just about everywhere you looked or touched. The positioning of the window switches is a study in piss poor ergonomics.
Aside from that, it wasn't too noisy and was comfortable enough - but no way would I buy one.

Update time:
It's still randomly setting itself back to a 6A charge rate, at the request of the dealer I am keeping a diary of charging and when it retains 10A vs resets to 6A.
Since it was last in with BMW the charging flap has become an absolute swine to open, getting to the point that I might just rip it open with a big screwdriver soon...
The nice man at BMW who has been liaising with me via email on the charging issues has it booked in again for the 7th December to look at the flap and charging rate problems.
This was a perfect car until the updates messed with it IMO.

I have developed exactly the same problem with the charging flap on my 45e. It's still randomly setting itself back to a 6A charge rate, at the request of the dealer I am keeping a diary of charging and when it retains 10A vs resets to 6A.

Quick update:
Dropped back off at BMW yesterday morning with a log of when charging rate went to 6A, and to have the poxy flap looked at.
...also to see if they could diagnose why it tried to pitch itself into a wall/central reservation with Driving Assistant Professional active during automated lane changes. Obviously I had my hands on the wheel anyway, but I suspect some people only just do enough to keep it from dropping out - had I not had a firm hold and counteracted its input there could easily have been a nasty situation.
's sake.
