A car a month for 2020. Idiocy but you love it.

Hate to be Mr Sensible here, but what about insurance? Do companies not get a bit uppity about chopping and changing, a la hiding as a trader?
Depends, direct line don’t charge an admin fee, others do.Worst issue is juggling the ruddy road tax so you’re not forever paying for two on the road due to timing.

No worries here, I already do a fair bit of chopping and changing / buying and selling so have appropriate cover (and a set of trade plates which makes collection day easier!) You’re right that it can be a bit difficult and expensive (admin fees!) with a standard policy. The first car I’ll be picking up on the 4th. It’s a little towards the boring end of the spectrum but is £174 with MOT until October.

Where do people find stuff this cheap? That's bonkers!cj2013 said:
They will cancel a policy if it shows this kind of activity (regular changes).
They haven’t with me so far, although I’m not quite at this frequency of change tbh.Just looked up mine, five car changes to the policy in the last twelve months.

I recently tried to buy a car for £500 and they were all scrappers or just boring. It’ll be interesting to see how you get on.
I bought a 1.6 Golf Mk4, with MOT, for £500 simply to bridge a 2-3 month gap we had between cars. It was such a good car and we both enjoyed driving it that we ended up keeping it a year just a run-around. Re-MOTd it (passed first time) and then sold it for £650 2Btoo said:
Excellent plan TP! I'm definitely watching!
We need the YouTube channel name. NEED. Come on chap, pass it on.
I’ve only made a couple of crap videos rambling on so far, to get to grips with the equipment / editing. Part of the reason for doing this challenge (apart from wanting to drive a bunch of random cars) is to provide a regular reason and structure that’ll motivate me to crack on with content production. I have some longer term projects that I’d also like to make videos about but they’re not really in a great position to do so right now. We need the YouTube channel name. NEED. Come on chap, pass it on.

Since I once sold you an old shed, I think you deserve me to sub and watch this crap content.
Mental idea, I love it.
Hahaha. That was a cracking shed apart from the marrow under the passenger seat! Mental idea, I love it.
I’m still messing about with knackered old rubbish, more so for enjoyment than trying to actually make a profit

Great project.
Just a thought - what is the limit to the number of cars you can buy and sell before having to be classed as an official car dealer?
I don’t think such a thing actually exists (it’s often spoken about but has little substance - badges of trade etc are more important), but as per previous I have the legal stuff covered already - I’ve been doing some on and off part time trading for years. Just a thought - what is the limit to the number of cars you can buy and sell before having to be classed as an official car dealer?

The budget wasn't as small as yours from memory
I was made aware of this after posting about my plans on the beige - hell of a read and what a journey!http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/175664/twelve-...

The pain of eBay was a strong theme, he didn’t half have trouble with his “buyers”. You hear the horror stories but I think he had more than his fair share of them!!
