A car a month for 2020. Idiocy but you love it.

So that's a good question, are you going to be travelling the length and breadth of the country picking these money pits interesting little motors up???
More than likely. I’m off to Northampton tomorrow!Cheap stuff locally tends to be utterly wked apart from the odd gem.

Looking forward to seeing how this goes! Good luck....and don’t forget the obligatory petrol station pic on the drive home.
Give me a shout if you need any help / lifts in the South Warwickshire / Coventry area.
No need for that, it has half a tank of fuel!Give me a shout if you need any help / lifts in the South Warwickshire / Coventry area.
That just about makes up for the fact it’s a bloody Ford Focus.
A 2007 1.8 Ghia with 115k miles. Boring, but there’s more!
OH YEAH, NOW WE’RE TALKING

Good start toasty!
Is the power steering totally inoperative, or just intermittent? Be careful driving home if it suddenly loses assistance!
Aparrently it has issues on full lock sometimes. I get a bit of whine from the pump on full lock but apart from that it’s been absolutely flawless so far, you’d be hard pushed to tell there was anything wrong if it wasn’t for the warning on the dash. 55 miles in, nearly home and it is driving very well indeed. Lot of car for £174.

Hmmm wasn’t that a “roffle” car recently?
I still keep an eye on the brown forum but haven’t logged in for ages - my last posts resulted in winning a Rover 75 in a “roffle” so thought it better not to have that level of temptation
It was.... I bought three tickets for £15, didn’t win, and gave the winner scrap for it (£159)I still keep an eye on the brown forum but haven’t logged in for ages - my last posts resulted in winning a Rover 75 in a “roffle” so thought it better not to have that level of temptation

Standard Focus then, the diesels are worse, lower control arms and drop links if you use cheap ones will only last 12-24 months, getting the tracking done every 4 months helps tyre wear, we're coming up on 127,000 in our first one, only the second set of control arms and drop links, I've known people spend £30 on control arms and have to replace them the next MOT!!!!
Cheap eBay suspension components are crap for all cars - you can buy drop links for £9 a pair for most mundane stuff that will barely last a year!RXED said:
What a great idea!
If you fancy a drop top, I have a ‘98 SLK 230k with 64k miles, silver with red/black interior that needs shifting. It will be well within budget, but needs an MOT now.
I will *need* a drop top come March/April but I am pretty keen to avoid buying MOT-less stuff if I can.... if it’s not going to need much for a test I might be swayed though If you fancy a drop top, I have a ‘98 SLK 230k with 64k miles, silver with red/black interior that needs shifting.
