Who do you recommend? I’m based in Cheltenham, always good to hear about good places
Can second all the above. My parents use Croft garage for MOTs too, and I've used Cleveley's new EV garage for the Leaf's service last year.

I use Doug Bond for my MOTs, because I'm one of the strange people who want someone who is strict (but not a jobsworth). Plus he's just a really nice chap, and there's always a chance to sneak a look at his dragster in the unit next door.

Just MOTs in Gloucester are my go to station - they’re just round the corner from my house but I used them when I lived in Cheltenham too!

Strict but fair and never anything questionable

Rover got papped at the meet on Saturday - looks far tidier than it actually is!

Welcome to my world.
British? check.
Diesel? check.
Looked upon with derision? check.
Fitted with an engine made by an inferior manufacturer?check.

I've had two Rover 75 and two X-Types and a late 90's XJ and both 75's felt far more Jaguar-ish than both the X-Types. I'd even say it was close to the XJ which cost about four times the price brand new.

The 75's just feel better engineered than the X-Type, the suspension is brilliantly engineered, real magic carpet feel.

I read once that when the 75 was developed the Rover engineers were given a blank cheque by BMW and they really went to town. Just a shame the BMW chief buggered the launch, pulled the plug and took the MINI brand with them.

For a car considered by many motoring journalists as a commercial failure the 75 did alright, 211,000 sold in 5 years.

Unfortunately not - I am on a mission delivering a car to a trader + collecting April’s car this weekend, best part of 1000 miles round trip.

Have you worked out how much more you are spending on fuel than the actual motors Toasty? hehe

The welding you knew about, would have been a shame to have that done and it fail on a brake pipe.

For the mileage its naff all is it.

yes. as simple as predicted. Judging by the number of fault codes not cleared but not present it’s no stranger to an airbag light biggrin

That’s far too tidy for this challenge!

Something about Rover 75s seem to lend themselves to being looked after by aged owners. My parents one went through another year's ticket last night with a pair of handbrake cables. It still scrubs up well for a 16-year-old diesel wagon. I wish it was auto, that would make it waft-worthy, but it's decent on juice with the Getrag manual box. 227, 000 miles and someone fitted a MG ZT-T leather/Alcantara interior and black steering wheel before we got it. Does 90% of the job of my Mondeo for 1/10th of the cost...

I’ve spoken to several owners that say they hang onto them because they struggle to find something to replace it!

Did the best part of 1000 miles successfully at the weekend there, delivering a car to a trader and collecting something from their "compost corner" that'll serve nicely as April's heap. It's a little bit broken and at one point in the journey I thought the engine had decided that it'd had enough. It's not quite running on all three cylinders but it made it! biggrin

I need to press on with sorting the Rover's welding and subsequent MOT retest PDQ.

I watched the airbag video on the rover earlier. I really liked it! Another good one. Nice beard change mid video too.

May I offer a little guided critique? You referenced the focus twice, but for those new to the channel they won’t have a clue what you’re on about. May i suggest next time you recall a previous car, that you either tell the viewer how to find it or that you’ll stick a link in the description? I see lots of ‘tubers doing this and I bet it IP’s their hit count!

Just a wee suggestions biggrin

Great idea, thanks! I’ll need to make some playlists for each month and then put links in the videos or something.

If you don't know how to do it, it is the cards option that you see on the second page of the uploads window.

End screens might be quite useful, as well. Add an End Screen to the end of the previous video and the next one will automatically be played, or the viewer can click it to play.

I've just added an End Screens to some of my videos, and it works a treat. "stripping bmw m roadster" might be a useful search on Google to see what I mean wink . Week 1 and Week 2 have End Screens. I will add an End Screen to Week 3 as soon as I publish Week 4.

The Cards option would be useful when you refer to previous videos. You can also link to pre-authorised websites (most other than porn, etc. are pre-authorised). I have my own website and it was authorised within a few hours. It is authorised for all users - unless someone flags it as inappropriate.
