I mean they’re hated when they do that y parking trick but I didn’t think they were widely hated!
I was on a drive with ten Smart cars and we took up five parking spaces using that trick. We were door handle to door handle. It's not very practical unless you know each other and like spooning smile .

A working mk1 with a MOT is hard to come by for £500

Bad luck on the Fox, noticed the Newmachar Motors plates, relatively local to me.

It reminds me of my time working at the local VW dealer a sheep farmer ordered a brand new red Lupo and latterly Fox every three years to cart his sheep around in. The cars were delivered with seat covers fitted and the rear seats folded down, the 3 year old trade in was returned the same but absolutely filthy condition (yours is truly immaculate by comparison) They were a great buy at £500 as they cleaned up well

Worth noting that’s not where I bought it from - they must’ve supplied it to the last owner! smile.

No complaints about where I *did* buy it from either, I knew I was buying a bit of rough for next to nothing.

That sounds like it could’ve been a nice little earner if you don’t mind wading through a bit of filth! Cleaning properly filthy cars is satisfying, too!

I find the quality a big thing with parts for the 75 nowadays. When we first got the car in 2016 things didn't seem as available. I remember getting a pair of wishbones from Germany as my local factors could not get them at all. They set me back about 130 quid apiece.

They are still perfect for 3+ years on and 50k.

It has had 3 sets of drop links, however. My parents seem unable to commit to spending 120 quid on a pair of drop links for a 500 quid car, as it may throw up something else or go bang. The "genuine" (MG/SAIC/NAC Chinese) stuff is now available, and probably does a damn sight better job.

3 sets of handbrake shoes in 3 yars, all Mintex (ordered one set and 3 arrived?! Lucky as a year later they are shredded), they are undersized and don't do a good enough job, but cannot justify genuine ones.

If the cost is not much more I'd put something better in, but when a drop link lasts 10k and is a tenner a pair and 20 mins to change both it makes sense dor me. Especially when the roads around here are cratered and the car isn't driven easy biggrin

Apologies Pericoloso, I had fogotten that criteria, German. The white Audi without indicators that sits 5mm from my rear bumper the whole time?

Toaster Pilot, wow, I am surprised at how Priuses keep their values - there is one on Autotrader for £500, but one with more miles for £1398 - at 297k miles.

Putting a sheep in a Lupo, or even a Fox come to that, is a bit ironic.

hehe

Utterly forgettable, I suppose. There are about 30,000 of them on the road according to How Many Left.

I’ve never been a fan of VWs so I tend not to give them a second glance. Probably seen lots and just viewed them as a polo/lupo type thing and thought nothing more of it.

I’m going to give it to you for the correct guess of March’s wonderful machine but the “VW Polo” folks were close too

It’s a 1996 VW Golf (mk3) 1.9 TDi GL. It’s battered, bruised, rusty, damp, has no working locks and only one working electric window.

A fine example. Oh it’s Cat C too. hehe

I know it’s VW and they have a track record for lying about things but did it have a bigger tank in the US for them to be able to make the claim in that advert!? hehe
