Or strip the paint off it and pee on/bleach/acid the metal surface to accelerate rusting and then follow the "rust in peace" scene
The amount of filler in it from a previous rust repair might make that look a bit odd biggrin

Finally got round to repairing the locks and windows on this - it’s now reasonably weather tight and secure yikes - revolutionary I know.

Also filled the gap in the bumper where the fake fog light was missing. Looks far better!

You've done a cracking job on that - I can't believe how good the paint has come up, it really was terrible!

April - topless, yellow, cheap.... first thing that popped into my head was a mk1 Punto Cabrio, but they're pretty thin on the ground now, not seen one for yonks.

Someone who actually knows about detailing and has the patience to use the right pad/polish/technique combo for an extended period of time could make it about 100x better I’m sure! Definitely met my goal of making it less offensive though - whilst still a bit beaten up and with dodgy rattle can finish on one wing, I don’t think it screams worthless banger any more!

I forgot that a Punto soft top was a thing - it’s not that but cloud9 I kind of wish it was hehe

He did say in the latest video ‘you’ll all love it’ so maybe it’s a very ropey and rusty mx5

He did say "topless" rather than "convertible" so maybe a Mk2 MR2 that someone's lost the targa roof for?

Golf should be off to a new home shortly, COVID-19 lockdown notwithstanding biggrin

Will post some before and after photos tomorrow - waiting for the glue to dry on the last of the wheel arch trims!

Could be tricky trying to maintain this if we have total lockdown. On the bright side the new IR35 rules have been delayed to next year...

Looks better in the photos than it is - it’s still a bit of a ten footer biggrin but I’m pleased with the improvement for sure

I’ve decided to reveal April’s car early, given everyone’s in dire need of something to laugh at with the current miserable situation we find ourselves in!

It’s a 1997 Renault Megane Cabriolet, with the fire breathing 1.6 8v engine and a whole host of problems, dodgy paint being the least of them (but a significant issue!)

One owner from new, 121k miles, 200 quid.
