Door card cleaned up surprisingly well - need to find some replacement clips in the right colour which I’m guessing is impossible. Might need to paint some white ones.

Interesting use of the term "door card". Must have taken a solid 2 minutes to design that intricate piece of "trim".

A mate of mine at uni had one. We put speakers in the front cards, then discovered you couldn’t wind the windows down because the speakers were in the way.

It was a very sweaty summer

The simplicity of it is amazing though - all the car you need and absolutely nothing you don’t.

That little Fiat seemingly looks very tidy, well done sir!

I had an Uno in a few weeks ago for some MOT repairs... absolute shocker to drive, very choppy and slow. Best bit of all was the gear linkage was all to pot, so sometimes you'd get 3rd or reverse instead of 1st etc. However, it's little brother, the Seicento is pretty good fun. IRS rear though I guess where the Uno was beam.

Indeed I agree, just hope there isn't lots of rolled up newspaper beneath Polyfiller and baby blue Dulux Once.

Its a nearly 40 year old Fiat. If more than 50% of the structure is still ferrous, I'd say you're onto a winner wink

I’m liking the fact that all of the service parts for this appear to be in firm “NOS st we never thought we’d sell and nearly binned” territory so are super cheap. Good stuff.

Did some mild tinkering, mostly checking the lights work which I’m glad to say they do. It’s so basic it doesn’t have a hazard switch, which surprised me!

Have ordered a few bits that’ll let me get stuck into the engine - not that there’s much of it

Also think I’ve found a solution to the mismatched wheel and spare. Might be a while before that turns up though, coming from Italy.

At least that tyre is rated for 'Motorway' use - an indicator of the potential speeds huh?

Looks very clean 'under the hood' from what I can make out. A quick blast with the Karcher will make it like new.

You seriously think blasting a pressure washer at an engine and its ancillaries is a good idea? eek

It’s quite common with the two bucket types. I’ll not be doing it but there’s probably even less to go wrong with this engine!

Exactly! A modern engine with many ECUs and so on then no its not ideal but does happen in the trade, but with the humble Panda, start her up and give it a blast with some TFR, keeping away from the air intake of course.

Well, things moved wildly off the mark from my intended target this year... but that's hardly surprising.

Here's a year in review - I really need to clear the decks in 2021 but the Panda and Aixam are just about to see a flurry of activity!
