Agreed, you have to trawl through some early 2000s dross.
Often these cars are listed incorrectly in eBay and hence don’t get many views. Many have had classic car bubble price increases though.
I bought a Xantia Activa for less than £500 some years ago, because it was listed under “manuals” and not “cars” on eBay. Sadly it died by vandalism; was the fastest London car I’ve ever had Often these cars are listed incorrectly in eBay and hence don’t get many views. Many have had classic car bubble price increases though.

Got the 205 back from the garage, it had the axle swapped, clutch cable, brake lines and a new exhaust. Now that the rear end is no longer rock solid the front end feels quite harsh and there's a clunk coming from the left. I think it would benefit from some new shocks and springs.

It was decided my recently purchased 504 would just go straight to the garage for mot work, I know the brakes are dodgy but not sure what else it might need.
I spotted the 504 on Gumtree advertised at £2800 so had a think about what I'd get rid of to justify spending the money on it and top of the list was the Subaru and the Mitsubishi.

I got £2400 for the pair and also sold a Daihatasu Terios I'd recently picked up for £400.
I also advertised one of the 305's for £400, unsurprisingly there's been no takers...

I briefly listed the Corolla for sale but pulled the advert after receiving a bunch of "best price" messages and wanting a billion photos.

Still on the fence as whether to sell it or not, it's a good reliable car and it's something a bit different but I still have quite a lot of cars, 14 at last count and could be doing with having about half of that figure. Same goes with the 205, had it for 2 years and it's spent most of this year sat unused. I think if it came between the 205 and Corolla I'd take the 205.

They were such a common sight back in the day ,usually in orange or grey and owned by builders and farmers or anybody that wanted to shift anything .We had one at the engineering/fabrication company owned by one of the bosses . I came closest to killing it when the bottom cup on the front nearside front strut sheared off and the spring jammed up on the tyre and suspension, luckily I was only going slowly over a level crossing at the time .
It needed some churning over on cold mornings !
Probably 10 years since I have seen one in the wild .
That is a fantastic truck - lots of them about the area when I was a kid. I remember one of the farmers near us had one with a couple of seats bolted (hopefully) into the bed, and he'd pick his kids up from school in it, and if they were having friends over the other kids would just pile into the pick-up bed. You never see cars these days with more kids in than seats! Mind you, pretty much everyone has a 7 seater people carrier or SUV rather than a beaten up pick up now... the worlds changed a lot since the early 90s!!

I've just bought a X-reg Corolla E110 for my son to learn to drive in - we'd have far preferred your one, much more retro cool! He was insistant he wanted a 90s Japanese car, and the Corolla we bought was the best example we could find locally. Then again, you're in Fife and I'm in Berkshire which is hardly local now is it...although my roots are in Stirlingshire but the rest of me has long since been relocated. Not much has been happening lately, I have my eye on a Cortina estate so looking to offload a couple of things...
I's hoped the Cortina would be the first car of 2022 but managed to buy a couple of other things first including a 2003 Audi A3 TDI Quattro and a 1996 Volvo 850.

The photo of the Volvo is from 2015 when a friend owned it, I need to arrange collection at the end of the week.

The Subaru and Skoda have a small amount of interest in them so maybe I'll find new homes for them in 2022.

Got the tracking done on the Audi and it seems to have made it a lot better to drive. When I first bought it, it was very difficult to keep in a straight line and felt totally fked, the massively wide 17" S3 alloys made it feel horrible to drive so I bought some 15" alloys with balloon tyres which also made a huge difference even before the tracking was done.
I bought the Volvo before I'd managed to fix the Audi and it was always at the back of my mind that I'd keep the one I like the best. I picked up the Volvo last night after being out in the Audi all day and definitely prefer the Audi.
It didn't help that the Volvo was absolutely minging inside.

Gave inside a good scrub and vacuum and swapped some part worn tyres onto it. I think I'll be flogging the Volvo.

I've not been in here for a while, but there are some lovely examples posted up thread.
Me...
I've recently got my licence back after a medical ban and am now the proud owner of a Zafira. Splashing out on something expensive just didn't compute and I've always been happiest shedding.
Obtaining what it quite possibly one of the worse cars in recent history wasn't deliberate, like many shed acquisitions, it was available, it was cheap and I bought it!
It is a Metallic Beige (I kid you not) 1.8 petrol manual with the 138hp engine and has a bit of a funny smell inside it.
Thing is, I absolutely love it.
It is the perfect car for throwing the bikes in the back of, driving out into the Peaks, parking it up and not giving a toss about it. It is also perfect for dump runs and procuring building materials.
I may even polish the beige turd soon.
