ooooohhh i can finally reply. Every time I've logged in recently I've had a message saying i cant reply because of some other people spamming or something. Annoying but hey ho. One asshole ruining it for everyone else as usual.

Now at 130,500 miles. Nothing to report apart from a sidelight bulb blowing and my temporary fix on the exhaust finally failing this morning. I got given a backbox for it a couple of days ago anyway, I just need to find where my deep 13mm socket has bloody gone so i can get the clamp off, pull the old one off and get the new one on. Cant find it anywhere rolleyes

I find the sidelight bulbs go quite often on my two, at least they're cheap as chips and easy to replace. Did you manage to replace without removing the headlight?

Feel free to drop me an email if you have any parts you need, I don't have that much but what I do have is going spare most likely!

I changed the passenger side one last week, then the drivers side blew. Replaced that one and both blew so im convinced either the bulbs im buying from the local car spares place are ste or theres an electrical problem with the headlights. I've put in some cheap LED sidelight bulbs that I had in the back of the toolbox when i changed all the bulbs in the MILs car back to standard (previous owner had put ALL LED bulbs in and she didnt like it)

Nope, cant get my hands in. I've got giant hands but its really not hard to pull the grill out and undo 3 bolts per headlight. Takes me 5 minutes to change both sides.

Theres nothing that I need at the moment but if I do, Ill give you a shout smile

Not even some free (well, postage cost) ST front calipers? I'm pretty sure they are still in my storage box and will never go back on either of mine since I've drilled the mounting holes out to accommodate Mondeo calipers.

Re; headlight removal, I'm pretty sure you're supposed to remove the bumper but everyone just squeezes them out like you say! Mine have started to fog so need a polish sometime soon, whilst I'm on lockdown.

Maybe... Ill have a think, i wasn't really planning on doing anything to the brakes as the pads and discs were done not too long ago and they stop the car pretty damn good.

Im starting to think the red rings were a bad idea and just look a bit tacky, so i might split the headlights again to redo them black and fit some halo rings rolleyes the lenses have needed polishing since i got these headlights so if i do, do the headlights again ill get it all done in one go. Going to have to dig the pre-facelift headlights out of the shed.

Ive been working on purchasing a project, its been a bit strange not having face to face contact with the seller but test drive was done before lockdown got announced, payment has been done via bank transfer and the keys/documents are in my possession. I collect it Tuesday 07:00 when insurance commences on my way to work.

That's fair enough, the brakes are pretty adequate for road driving (even spirited) anyway - ST ones are better still and Mondeo ones can put heads through windscreens with decent pads!

Do you have Instagram etc.? I've got those rings painted black on my track car if you want to see what they look like.

If you've not done it already a leather steering wheel from a higher spec model is a nice upgrade, I have done it on mine, makes a world of difference. The plastic steering wheels in the lesser models degrade badly.

Quick update.

Now on 131,000 miles.
Wheel bearing collapsed two days ago, Spent yesterday sorting that out. A huge £30.75 kit from GSF car parts (delivered) and £10 on a crate of Guinness along with an afternoon of shouting, swearing and eating burgers saw it done.

Nothing else to report, running sweet and using not alot of petrol.

Good work. I borrowed the use of the press from a friendly garage. They took a lot of pressing in.

Wouldn't really say quite a few... I mean the clutch was an expected issue and was factored into the purchase price.
The back box is a fk it ill fix when i can be arsed situation and not an expensive one either.
The wheel bearing is just one of those things.

Its a 131,000 mile 15 year old car, things wear out and need replacing.

The car isn't going to be seeing much use over the next month or so, Work went quiet so I jumped back onto security work and now have the use of my Mobile Patrols Car - a very nice Octavia VRS estate on a 18 plate (cant post pics as its liveried up with company logos etc).

This morning I spent half an hour farting about with the fiesta, Took the face-lift headlights out and temporarily fitted the pre face-lift headlights to stop the council thinking its an abandoned motor rolleyes

Im going to be splitting them again, stripping them back down and repainting them. Fitting all LED bulbs and doing something I've not seen done on a mk6 before, but you can wait to see that.

A bit of an update and an end to this thread.

I sold the fiesta and purchased something much bigger as my needs changed. The car was bought by a "home trader" who then sold it onto somebody else.

Thread on the new car will be started once ive made some significant progress with the work Im doing to it.
