I'm sure they're OK with that.
100% they are as they really dont give a F*** about the customer that was made clear when I complained about the 22 times my 63 plate HSE Luxury Discovery went in for problems in 9 months. It was more than clear. But what should of I expected for a car I paid almost 70k for!baldnut said:

I went to school in the 70's and 80's left school with no qualifications and no idea about grammar and the difference between there, their and they're but hey it seems I have done pretty well for myself and along the way I managed to learn a little bit about grammar. Lets hope with your perfect grammar you can even be 10% as successful as I am and you will have a nice life.

Could I ask you to argue about grammar somewhere else please...
I know not everyone will like the new Defender, but I'd like to keep this as an informative thread for people who are genuinely interested in the car.
@Baldnut - I would like to see some pictures of the Tomb Raider Defender though - perhaps you could start a Readers' Cars thread about it...

Don't see the appeal of the old ones, but the new ones? Yes please!
I guess like everything in life cars progress and are made modern and fine tuned to be the best they can be, I suppose nostalgia for us older guys makes me personally dislike the new defender as it doesn't represent what I remember the car to be.Having bought an evoque for my wife when it first came out I really liked it and enjoyed the occasional drive myself but then to see the range rovers all follow on the evoque styling very disappointing. The discovery I could have gotten away with but the left hand position of the number plate just looks odd on the new discovery even though the rest of the car had some impressive upgrades.

Wish I still had it, though have to admit it was an awful drive!! Part exchanged it in Birmingham for an Audi S8 and it was the longest drive of my life from Teesside
Two cars that are poles apart! Loved both of my old Defenders, but agree that they were sub-optimal for really long drives. Still put a smile on my face though The new one is different. Had mine just over a week and have done over 600 miles. Loving it!

Rear seats. Base spec gets fabric seats, which is fine by me. Loads of legroom. Sorry for rotated image...
Is the floor for the rear seats completely flat (i.e. no transmission tunnel)? As you say, loads of legroom and could be a good spot for the pooch to sit rather than in the boot... This is the first time in my life I am seriously tempted to buy a new car!
Any idea how waiting times are looking? For me it would be a very basic petrol 110; pretty much like yours but with the steel wheels.

The rear floor isn’t perfectly flat - there is a slight bump in the centre but probably only an inch or so.This is the first time in my life I am seriously tempted to buy a new car!

Waiting times - difficult to be precise, but if you ordered today, it could be 4-5 months for a 110 (longer for a 90 which we only opened for orders yesterday) unless you find a Retailer with a stock order in the pipeline that you could amend to suit your required spec.
Well worth talking to a Retailer to confirm, but bear in mind they don’t yet have demo cars to look at...
Been to see a friend this morning who owns this very lovely Series III. She also has a 944S2, so clearly has great taste
She loved the new one. She’s off to see a 3.5 V8 Rangey Classic this afternoon to add to her collection!
Also met one of the local farmers the other day. He has a Defender pickup with Ifor Williams canopy. Was expecting him to be a bit sniffy - he always took the p*** about how clean I kept my 90XS, but he had a good round it, and really liked it. He thought a 90 Commercial could work for him.
Done about 800 miles so far. Loved every one of them...

Very nice I really like the look of them, I’m based in Malvern, and have spotted quite a few convoys of them driving around.
I’ve been having a mess around with the configuration, I quite like a 90 with the white steel wheels!
They're doing a lot of training on them up at Eastnor at the mo... I’ve been having a mess around with the configuration, I quite like a 90 with the white steel wheels!
