Your main problem with (a lack of) induction noise is that it's a left hooker. If it was RHD the intake scoop would be right behind your right shoulder/ear, instead of which it's on the other side of the car from where you are sitting !

Nice photo.

Jay Leno drove a white one in one of his videos. It looks good in the still of it in his 'garage'. I've not watched the video. The UK isn't sunny California or Côte d'Azur.

Does it need paint?
To see more of the white car featured in the Leno film, check out Ferrari_1966 (Donnie Callaway) on Instagram

A white 308 would be unusual but not in a good way.

Loving the videos and updates on here, you have the only YouTube channel I have subscribed to.

I also did a Golf GTI Vs Peugeot 205 video, to find the true king of the hot hatches.. it’s not done well which surprised me. Any feedback you guys can give would be welcomed. Sometimes youtube is just weird and these videos pick up weeks or months after posting them. Or maybe this one just wasn’t very good!
Still.. I thought this would have done well.

It's not that it's not an interesting subject or video it's just that everyone wants more on the 308. (I had a pug 205 gti 1.9 - F40PPC so I'm biased and already have my own ideas on that subject).

Personality - I can't even bring myself to watch it - I just want more of the 308!

The whole thing has really captured my interest. When it popped up (and I think it had been 4 days since the last one or something I was 'no! , more ferrari!' smile

I follow quite a few bike/car guys and what seems to work for them is "Clickbait" titles so "Golf GTI and Peugeot 205 GTI - faster than a Ferrari" or " Golf GTI demolished by Peugeot 205 GT!" It doesnt seem to matter thats its not true. I watched one the other day "Why I hate Indian Motorcycles" and the guy went on to sing the bike's praises but both Indian bike owners and "haters" clicked the link. I appreciate you may not want to go down this road but it does seem to work

That's because the king of the hot hatches is the Abarth 130TC. Lampredi, twin carbs, big seats.

wink

The title reminded of the CAR Magazine cover from 1985 that had a red 205GTi without a sunroof with a Corfu white Uno Turbo ie. possibly with a sunroof.

Anyone who's old enough to know or care about Golfs and 205s is likely to have their own opinions of them, I suppose that audience may be interested if the video featured some little known fact that they didn't already know. Would the youngsters be interested in the Golf and 205?

With regard to the Abarth 130TC being the king of the hot hatches there was also that CAR Magazine front cover with that and Mk2 Golfs GTis in 8V and 16V form?

The CAR Magazine review from back in the day said your 308 didn't sound that great.

As their 1990s front cover that featured the Alfa 916 GTV 'Alfa out Ferrari Ferrari' or some such and many rate the Busso for sound, perhaps put that to the test?

Is the 916 GTV V6 a cut price Ferrari and does it sound better, more sonorous than your 308?

You need to be careful removing the airbox as it does a couple of important jobs.

First job is the positioning of the lid affects the reversion pulse tuning of the engine.

Second is it protects you from fires as a result of fuel standoff above the carbs.

Everyone knows that the king of the hot hatches was the Lancia Delta! Lovely looking Ferrari, as other posters have mentioned keep it red, the only Ferrari that looks good in TdF blue is the 456 GTA/M

What does the non-Integrale Delta drive like? Does it cock an inside rear wheel like a Golf?

At least you didn't mention the linkage across the other side of the bulkhead on the Golf for the brake master cylinder on the left.

I watched the video but much prefer the ferrari stuff. With build logs like yours I'm more interested in the development of the project and the journey. If I want to see car reviews there are lots of very very high quality options on YouTube.

I think you need to decide what sort of channel you'd like, the 'man in the shed building a car' clearly works for you but car reviewing needs bigger budgets and better cameras, camerawork editing etc etc.

Personally I think it’s the wrong Golf.

A mk2 GTi 16v is the one to place up against a 1.9 205 GTi.

Both released in 1986 if my memory is correct. ~139hp vs ~130hp.

Both great cars & very tweakable.

Proof in the pudding is you still see them on track today & very competent performers too

I assume it's got a "dogleg" box.

Reverse forward left, first back left. H-pattern backwards probably too, so 2nd is where first normally, 3rd where 2nd would be, 4th where third would be and 5th where 4th would be. Drive a commercial with this layout, you have to be on the ball especially if you hop into it from the car!
Cheers for the reply, I was suspecting as much, but having never noticed it when looking in a window before....(never had the chance to drive one) the video's showed the move off's....I would imagine it is "wise" to remember where 1st and reverse are smile
