Patience of a saint springs to mind Jack ...
Glad you sorted the fuel supply issue. Worthwhile getting the carbs set up with a CO meter to improve the fuel consumption ?
I guessed it was the cooling fans when you said the noise appeared as soon as you switched the ignition on
Not many really amusing threads on FChat, but I found this gem at 3 am this morning ...

Enjoy it, the guy's got a very dry, ascerbic, British SoH I'm sure you will, because you'll be able to relate to it better than most ...!!!
Truly shocking the butchery inflicted on these cars by less than proficient techs/grease monkeys over the years
Thanks for the link, read first few posts but will read whole thing later! Glad you sorted the fuel supply issue. Worthwhile getting the carbs set up with a CO meter to improve the fuel consumption ?

Guys, never a dull moment. The Influenzo gave me another heart attack a few days a go when it made a noise akin to the gearbox disintegrating. But it turned out not to be as serious as it seemed. It’s coming close to my birthday and this is the only reason I can fathom that the car made me buy anew fuel pump, that it turned out wasn’t needed. Ah the joys!! Here is the link:

And a couple of lovely pics!

Once again thanks so much for all the kind comments! I do need to start a separate thread on Pepe the 205!
Back to the InfluEnzo.. once again the hand of fate has intervened and a 30 minute job has turned into two days of cursing! There was a very small leak coming from the water pipe going from the expansion tank to the water pump. So I got some good quality silicone hose, drained part of the collant and set to work. This is why I found once I removed the pipe
So.. ended up having to remove a fair few bits to get to the water pump so it could be removed. There was no way that union was budging, having been there since 1979! Will have to take it to an engineering place to remove it. Still working on it.

Just saw the recent vid. Fingers crossed the new problem isn't anything too serious (i.e. requiring engine out work).
Really great content, keep up the good work.
Thanks chap.. for all those that don’t know, it looks like I did dose damage in the end when I boiled the InfluEnzo... video can be found here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=10-R7ttboykReally great content, keep up the good work.
Grappling with the silencer this week.. something which should have been so simple! At least I got to start it up just with the headers on. It was LOUD. Video here https://youtu.be/sfggGGbVzjE

Had the video saved to watch with my Sunday morning coffee but it seems to have been taken down due to copyright issues. Grrrrrr
It was a misunderstanding.. been resolved and should be back up in a few hours. In the meantime am doing a short video explains the copyright stuff plus starting it without a silencer and a quick tour of my vintage arc cars! Will be up in an hour or so I think! Well the new exhaust has turned out to be a bit of a disappointment.. and controversial in terms of looks!
This weeks episode is now live. Enjoy!

Whilst the crank is a flat plane item in the 308/348/355/360, the 360 Modena uses a different firing order .
However the 348, and 355 which use the same firing order as the earlier car can be given a proper flat plane V8 wail with the right exhaust, whereas the 308 seems to struggle in this department.
The transverse installation of the engine/transmission in the 308 makes the exhaust packaging more difficult, and the car runs 4 into 2 into 1 manifolds, whereas the later cars run 4 into 1 manifolds, and the real screamers (S-Line, Kreissieg etc exhausts seem to run X pipes)
308 firing order : 1, 5, 3, 7, 4, 8, 2, 6

348 : 1, 5, 3, 7, 4, 8, 2, 6

355 : 1, 5, 3, 7, 4, 8, 2, 6

360 : 1-8-3-6-4-5-2-7 (allegedly shared with the Cosworth DFV ... )

And the 360 in its most extreme guise :

Ryan Edwards is a very good exhaust fabricator, I'm sure he'll come up with something considerably better sounding then the Superformance sports exhaust.

Nice photo.
Jay Leno drove a white one in one of his videos. It looks good in the still of it in his 'garage'. I've not watched the video. The UK isn't sunny California or Côte d'Azur.
Does it need paint?
