Panic buying a pandemic Ferrari
Discussion
I also did a Golf GTI Vs Peugeot 205 video, to find the true king of the hot hatches.. it’s not done well which surprised me. Any feedback you guys can give would be welcomed. Sometimes youtube is just weird and these videos pick up weeks or months after posting them. Or maybe this one just wasn’t very good!
Still.. I thought this would have done well.

I was liking that little Alfa, I’m thinking “oh that looks like a nice little first classic, wonder if I could sell...” Then my thought was interrupted as you said “£75,000”
The Full GTAs cost over £200k, you’ve got to think about it as 3/4 of one of those at less than half the price. It’s not cheap but I think it’s worth that money. It also had a bare shell rebuild so is basically mint. 200Plus Club said:
Personally I like Harry Metcalfes channel, carfection, the new tyrells classic garage etc and your own to name a few, but I wouldn't suggest you go out looking to become the next big channel star as that is part of your channels charm that it's just you as an enthusiastic amateur detailing your cars/progress.
I've no real suggestions how you build or grow but if you can somehow retain the hands on enthusiast angle around fixing/modifying classics that are attainable maybe?
Good luck anyway !
Thanks! The problem is time.. I work fullI've no real suggestions how you build or grow but if you can somehow retain the hands on enthusiast angle around fixing/modifying classics that are attainable maybe?

Time so working on classics enough to make videos the whole time is difficult. I also lack the space.. I will continue but also really
Enjoy driving other cars so the car reviews are good too. Youtube is weird though. I can upload a video that does really badly and then explodes 4 months later. Or I once uploaded exactly the same video as a smaller channel, on their channel it got 3k views in 6 months.. on mine it did 30k in one month. It’s just frustrating because it’s about the algorithm YouTube uses, if it decides to put videos on people’s home pages then the video does well.. if it decides not to promote it then it doesn’t.. no matter how good it is.

I dont really subscribe to many youtube channels and i didnt to yours at first but then i discovered i was watching every video via this thread and enjoying them anyway, so happily subscribed after a few.
For me your channel has a certain charm to it, there's no billy big balls, it's all just very humble and innocent, no ulterior motives etc. It's easier for me to say because its not me putting the effort into the videos and being let down by the amount of views but if you enjoy making them and enjoy the activities you get up to whilst making them then sod the views.
I did enjoy the latest Alfa one especially, it's a very similar recipe to my 2002 and thats valued at £45k, compared to that alfa it makes my little 02 a relative bargain

With regards to the videos more generally, A MASSIVE thanks to all of you on PH who have followed the videos or subscribed and fed back on this thread! Great community.
Have fitted an upgraded fuse box and been grappling with changing the oil line to the cooler which is proving so much harder than expected! Also mucked about with the airbox some more....Hopefully a proper update video out next week on that. This Friday there is another comparing the InfluEnzo to a similari priced 456 that my mate also bought unseen during lockdown!

I thought the video was fine and your descriptions of the driving characteristics and controls are what I appreciate in car videos. However, men beyond a certain age threshold should probably avoid using phrases like "rocked up". My apologies if you feel you have not yet breached that arbitrary threshold.
As you mentioned just the tache and shirt being photoshopped, I will assume the medallion is your very own.
Higgins.
I have many medallions.. one to go with each pair of PJs! As you mentioned just the tache and shirt being photoshopped, I will assume the medallion is your very own.

Don’t think i said rocked up in the video?

If we're not careful we may lose more great driving roads to the scourge of average speed cameras blotting a lovely rural landscape, aka EVO Triangle.
The best way to enjoy such roads is ideally on your own but definitely when nobody else is around say very early on a Sunday morning.
That Porsche convoy appeared to be driving sensibly which was nice to see....
Still, great video Jack and great driving too
As others have said, I wonder how the 308 would compare to the Alfa with a refreshed suspension, tyres, geo etc...

Film during the week when it’s quite quiet.. but the Alfa was filmed on Sunday and it was quite busy after 10am. both the Alfa and the 456 were driven by the owners for the exterior shots.. and they were both going for it!
Here is my last vid.. for this that are after pure InfluEnzo updates.. don’t fear, the next one will be that..
Found out why the handling is a bit iffy!!
And Monday it’s going for the custom back box!

Thanks all for the support.. I was almost going to cry.. but I feel ‘ok’ about it now. Car is improving the hole time so it’s a downer to have a big set back like that! Suspension bushes are the next priority I think! .... and a new trolley jack! Pro Apple have mentioned quickjacks but I think I’d struggle to have the space to store them and stuff..
For those that want the link to the video:

Separately last week I also drove a 308 that had been converted to electric with a Tesla motor. It was unreal.. I’ll post a separate thread on that with a link.

Been there, done that, got the T shirt Jack. You have my sympathies.
I had a ChipsAway franchise between 1997-2002. We serviced Evans Halshaw Ferrari/Maserati in Birmingham.
They called us in to to do a couple of wheel repairs and a front bumper repair on a 355 GTS.
I really disliked jacking the cars up, so would always ask the service manager if he could find a technician to jack the car up and remove the wheels for us.
With the car up on a trolley jack under the OSR jacking point (sound familiar Jack ?) the two OS wheels were removed and we started prepping the wheels and the underside of the front bumper.
By 4’ O clock (it was a Friday) the front bumper repair was done and the wheels were ready to be refitted.
Figuring the front wheel would be easier to refit if the car was raised slightly higher, I grabbed the jack handle and pulled on it ...
The first pump was trouble free, but the second was met with a loud “clack” (as the jack slipped off the jacking point) and a sickening crunch followed a millisecond later as the jack punched straight through the deep fibreglass sill extension as the car plummeted onto the workshop floor.
Ashen faced, I headed into the service manager’s office to explain what had just happened.
The replacement sill wasn’t as expensive as I’d feared, but whilst I was mindful of biting the hand that fed me, I
felt there was an extenuating factor, in that the technician who’d jacked the car up, hadn’t located the jack properly nor put the car on axle stands.
The service manager concurred, and fortunately we retained their business, but I still paid 50% of the £1800 repair bill.
An expensive day out !!

Hello all, car ha been identified as an MG ZS. Doesn’t get me much closer to finding them but it all rallies up. Was someone manoeuvring rathe than coming round the corner I think. I took it for a quote today. I think it may be written off as a cat d, or cat N now. But we will see. Drives absolutely fine. Update video out in next day or two.
