This is me standing 4 ft away from the car. Its not really something that would stand out unless on my knees looking specifically at the nuts.

Ha! That's exactly what I thought as I typed it. Good job I deleted the part 'On my knees putting my finger in the hole to feel the nuts' eh?

Probably. Thankfully that's gone now.

Great video. Will see how to make a cheapo version. Guessing it only really needs a bolt?

Couple of things on this... (which I may have already posted about, so apologies is re-post)

1) Had same issues on my ML320, it was so bad I drove it home after purchase using the throttle on the cruise control!
2) The genunine part is under £30 (£23.88 in 2018) from Mercedes, so despite being a crap design - it's not expensive to replace.
3) The plastic end of the throttle cable gets brittle with age, there is a 50/50 it will break when you unhook it from the pedal. (ask me how I know!)
4) The replacement throttle cable was £55! hehe
5) Lube up the whole throttle mechanism from the throttlebody backwards - I'm sure friction here increases the wear rate on the pedal.
Don't suppose you happen to have a part number? whistle

Is it still working?
Haha. Yeh still working. My dad's got it at the moment as I'm selling (trying to) his car as they move house in 2 weeks.

Last time I drove it, it was working very well and I prefer my shed to his £14k skoda superb haha.

I am now buying an ML for my dad.
Has to be petrol but quiet haha. My mum won't even go in mine so has to be quiet.

Think i'm going to buy this if it doesn't go silly at the end of the auction.

Did you get it?
I was the highest bidder but I spoke to the seller yesterday and his reserve was 2250 so knew it wasn't going to get near that.

I've text him after the auction to let him know it was me to see if we can do a deal but no response annoyingly..

Prices are all over the shop at the moment - suspect he will meet you halfway in the end.
Yeh it seems like a decent car but I wouldn't want to pay more than £1800 as I personally think £1600 was bang on what it worth right now.
Sadly its hard to find a petrol one and even more so one that doesn't look like it's had the hardest life ever.

Got mine back last night and my dad (The jammy fker) is now the owner of this...
2004 ML350 with 105k on it.
I went with him and bar one issue, it's a lovely car and makes mine look even crapper. Got them down to £1120 in the end which i'm very happy with considering I offered £1800 for the silver one yesterday.

Something they managed to hide very well in the advert.

Bit of making good this morning..

Does anyone know why some of them have what looks like the older version front bumpers? Assumed it was when they had a prang, they bought the cheaper bumper but there's quite a few facelifts with the same bumper ie, no fog lights.

I guess so. Fog lights and front sensors are overrated anyway.

Colours a weird one. It's black but clearly it's blue but the actual colour code is Emerald black which is a green/black.
Silly Germans.

Does it have the opening rear windows? (buttons on the centre console if it has)

Like the ghetto window tint too! hehe
No thankfully as that glass was an extra £4 on ebay.

So is the rear window broken hence the warning tape?
Smashed into thousands of little bits. No hole so not sure what happened. Maybe something in the boot hit it?
Part was £30. No doubt it will be an awful job to remove properly.

laugh

Got touch up paint, new rear glass and some some new bonnet struts (£3 each from ECP amazingly) so his car will look minty fresh on Sunday.

My car, just looks like a sad rusty block of metal with an obnoxiously loud engine (can't say exhaust because it doesn't really have one).

First problem has popped up.
Engine light on and my reader is suggesting a misfire on number 3.

Will have to have a look at it but it doesn't seem to run any different than before.

They are twin plug, so possible someone has cheaped out and never bothered to change them.
£140 for some plugs. No wonder!

Haven't looked but hope they're not a pain in the arse to change with the lpg system fitted.
