I can only urge you to do it. Follow your dreams, don't wait.

Thanks for your support by the way.

And to everyone and anyone else who just subscribed and pushed my YouTube channel over the 300 mark. Happy bunny here - thanks so much.

There will be more updates and very fast now as she gets built. So I will keep you updated.
I was 300 I think ??

I thought I had watched all of YouTube, and had an op on foot today so resting for 48 hours. Was good to find something new! Will be nice to see the evolution.

Zil131 is on my list, or was until I saw the SV!

Thanks for that little push over the line sir. I had been staring at it for days going "go, on. One more" biggrin

Love the Zil but you need to swap the engine cos the petrol thing does 3mpg and you can't get parts. Also, top speed is like 45. But it will always start. Prices on the SV (Man HX60) are rising. I paid £12k for mine inc vat and premiums and they are £20k now.

Couple of photo's after two days of degreasing and dewaxing of the chassis and components as it heads towards prep for painting.

Progress is going to come thick and fast now.

Subframe is built and ready and the torsion mounts are back from the Zinc platers. I really want to show you those as they are a bit cool but the company has asked me not to yet as they are proprietary and they don’t want someone working out how they do it.

Anyway here’s the subframe:

Been busy this week doing HGV lessons. Shame I managed to just chuck it all away in the 11th hour by doing something bks early on. Oh well, if at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer right?

TLDR - Hit the B cone with the o/s corner during the reversing exercise.

Long version - didn't set up on entry correctly. Wasn't far enough over to the left between the cones. There is a drain cover that runs parallel to the yellow line at this particular centre. My brain just went 'that's handy for lining up' and at no point did it say 'the Instructor said DON'T BE LULLED by the drain cover. Stay to the left.'
Thus as I put full left lock on, I didn't actually achieve full left lock, I was watching for the cone coming in to view and it didn't - well, until it fell into view with a clatter cos I had knocked it over.

If I'm honest with myself, I wasn't ready. I needed a bit more time to get my head round it all. I have a new found respect for truck drivers. It's a bloody hard thing to do. Also explains why they are all miserable bds because it's stupid out there. 14m and 18 tons of truck WITH L PLATES and people squeeze past you or cyclists do stupid stuff. Madness.

Yup, a friend has his HGV1 and some of the stories he's told me are mind boggling, more about impatient drivers funnily enough than anything else, people thinking it's a good idea to push in in front of 38 tons of moving truck!!! rolleyes

Well this thread is utterly disappointing.

Why isn't it finished yet, I'm so impatient and love to see the final product hehe In for the long haul!

One bit of (hopefully) constructive feedback, for those of us following the thread, who aren't able to watch YouTube at will, could you post a few more pictures in here please?

Truck is in build, pics incoming. Currently fighting with GoPro clips because they don't seem to want to load into iMovie for editing.

Progressed from there, the windows and door are cut out, the roof is on. The protective rubbing strips that cover the lower fixings will be fitted at some point.

More pics when I get them.

As requested, advance views of the next YT vlog.

Gained a dog - no complaints biggrin the frame below the doorway is for the folding access ladders.

Drivers side view showing 'safari' window which is Expedition truck equivalent of french doors, the chamfered roof profile to the front, the lower rubbing strips with cut outs to allow full torsion of box and sub frame to chassis flex.

Close up of bedroom window shoing the skyhatch. And yes, you guessed, Expedition truck version of conservatory.
