Squeee! Countdown to collection has begun. Getting tremendously close now. Over the weekend and I shall be behind the wheel heading back for the sunny South West.
One the things been waiting for is this mahoosive winch mount. I know you fine blokes and blokesses like a bit of engineering.
Check this out!

I'm another one who's ignored this for far too long assuming it was a Caterham or Lambo.
Epic build! It's really hard to get a sense of scale until I realised the awning that would normally sit at the top of a camper is stuck on the side of the living unit barely half way up.
I know right? Even I was caught out when at 185cm I stood under the rear spare carrier! Epic build! It's really hard to get a sense of scale until I realised the awning that would normally sit at the top of a camper is stuck on the side of the living unit barely half way up.

Looks great, why are you running on trade plates? Is it not registered yet?
Issue with delay at DVLA and this time the builder needed the space, I needed to get on to the interior so she had to come back on trade plates. Terra1 said:
Looks absolutely amazing! Great to see how far it's come in what feels like a relatively short period of time. Probably the most interesting vehicle on the whole forum, look forward to seeing the interior vid!
Bless you Terra1, thanks. But whilst it's different, it's in no way the most interesting vehicle, and it's my baby Edited by Projectblue51 on Tuesday 6th April 20:19

I absolutely love this, the paint scheme is awesome, the interior does not seem as big as the dimensions suggest, camera foreshortening at work?
I assume it is as most cameras are pretty poor wide angle...What's the timescale/plan for the fit-out PB51? DIY or getting another fitter to get on it?

True - just a bit concerned that when you stop at Tescos in Cuzco or Almaty you'll need to use at least three parking bays to be able to load provisions.
You aren't wrong Lily. But there will be more storage facilities and also a short pop up ladder for those pesky supermarket stops. J1990 said:
Really enjoying this, looking forward to seeing that interior coming together and for you to be unleashed on the roads.
Once the build is complete, I'm assuming the intention is to continue with the videos as you explore the world?
Absolutely! That's going to be half of it all isn't it? Going places and discovering stuff. Like just where she won't fit Once the build is complete, I'm assuming the intention is to continue with the videos as you explore the world?

Currently almost all my filming is done with my phone. Hopefully this will improve as I invest in better kit. What's the timescale/plan for the fit-out PB51? DIY or getting another fitter to get on it?
The next part is sort of combination, of part DIY and part pro fitters. E.g. I intend to do a lot of the straight forward stuff such as cutting holes, running cables, screwing down mounts or cable clips. The difficult stuff, like making a 90degree corner actually be 90 degrees, I will leave to the professionals . This allows me flexibility and to revisit something quickly if needed. It also means I can adopt different ideas. I have a saying which is 'I don't have the monopoly on good ideas - speak up'.
It also allows me to understand the entire fit out inside. So if there is an issue later, I'm better clued up to how to resolve that.
That's the theory anyway.
