Lovely looking and I like the interiors old school ,what's it like for running costs or fuel ,I also had a Celica t sport and took gt86 out for a test drive but was not impressed with engine and thought 370z could be next for more poke .
Running costs aren’t too bad, it’s in the silly tax band but insurance is actually relatively cheap; <£400 for me and I’m under 30. Mpg isn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but the fuel tank is 17 gallons so filling it from empty is a little scary! Parts and servicing is nowhere near as expensive as the equivalent Cayman/Z4, since it’s still a Nissan If you haven't already, recommend you join the UK forum, great people and information on there.
First thing you should do is pull the steering lock fuse. The locks are very vulnerable and break with frequency, stranding you and with a very big bill. It was originally a recall then Nissan dropped it.
Do a search you will read all about it.
Great cars if sounding a little quiet. My 350Z sounded better than my 370Z, I put an Ark Grip on, which made a huge difference, but I found it droned a little at motorway speeds.
Great value cars.

Firstly, congratulations OP. I notice you and I got our licenses at the same time so I'll take a guess you are perhaps 28 or 29.
I did the reverse of your journey, about 4 years ago now, 400ish miles to Edinburgh from Reading, Berkshire to collect a Z4M Coupe from the seller, an energy executive, who wasn't even powerfully built, just a nice guy. The car had 343bhp and only 25,000 miles. I spent my house deposit savings on it.
These cars are very different but also quite similar in some regards - loads of power, 6 cylinders, 2 seat coupe design and like how you describe - put a big smile on face when on the drive home!
Well done for achieving such a dream. I'd quite like a 370z in the future, perhaps in a brighter shade like that blue or the yellow. Seems many people put a 5zigen exhaust system on to give that V6 more growl, could be a good investment for your joy AND the cars health, given the condition of it noted by the AA.
Make sure you take it on the NC500 and the various highland roads!
Here's my old Z, albeit the german version!

I only last week sold my 370z, he flew from Edinburgh to Southampton to pick it up from me!
Owned mine for over 5 years and almost 60,000 including many road trips, do miss mine and maybe I'll get another one day!
I fitted a Tanabe Medalion exhaust to mine, I'd highly recommend it - perfect for just cruising along but a beautiful V6 noise when you put your foot down a bit.

Well...the car has developed its first issue! Fortunately it’s a simple problem with a simple fix. The boot latch mechanism has failed and the boot won’t stay closed. It’s a common fault on 370Zs, a fault my car didn’t have...until a week and a half after I bought it! Just pure bad luck.
It sounds like it could be complicated but it’s really basic. Essentially the cogs in the motor for the latch actuator get all gunked up over time, and the upshot is the actuator and therefore the latch lock don’t return to their proper positions so the latch never closes over fully to lock the boot lid in place. Nissan wanted a £99 diagnosis fee plus parts and labour to fix it so I thought stuff that, I’ll investigate it myself. It was a 45 minute job to get access to the motor, give it a clean and put it all back together.
Trim pieces removed and mechanism pulled out (motor is the beige box on the left)
The inside of the actuator motor
Job done. So if it’s been permanently fixed with just a clean up then great, and if not then a new motor is only £65 on eBay and it’s a really quick job.
On a side note, I don’t tend to name cars but I’ve decided to name the 370Z “Zole”, because one day I glanced down at the floor mat and...

Is yours a GT spec? All GTs have the Bose sound system as far as I know, maybe they did put it somewhere else in the roadster
Yes it is a GT spec. As you say I presume that it is repositioned somewhere else. Mine still has the sub. What does yours have (cerb4.5lee)?

I'm beginning to wonder if mine even has a sub because I'm finding it hard to imagine where they would put it? The stereo is a Bose one though. Unless they fit smaller subs under the seats or something?
