When he takes it to shows people ask if it's a V8 and get all deflated when he says no, it's a 2600. Daft really. It has proper long legged style and loves A roads as much as motorways.
Please tell the bloke that if he refuses to sell the car to me I am going to come round and steal it. But in a friendly way.

He toys with the idea of letting it go every couple of years or so but he knows deep down he'll regret it - he offered it to me once and I told him in no uncertain terms that he'd be making a big mistake and would instantly regret it. Just like me, he gets the itch for something else with painful regularity, but doesn't have the room for more than two or three cars. Good job really....!

That Flaminia Coupe you posted the link to in the 124 thread looks utterly fab and probably drives like it too, the owner of this one is a PH'er so you'd be amongst friends....

Keep the 124, get the Beta back on the road and enjoy it for at least a while, have a clear out of the rest and make a decision....

Ok so here are two lovely Montecarlo’s being refurbed, recommissioned and got ready for the road.
And they are Red.
One day we should get the Blue car the Silver car and these two Red cars together.
Since they are all in Scotland this should be possible.
We could call it a Rally.
Hold a World Championship.
Car with most stickers wins.

This RHD '77 Montecarlo looks fantastic, it's been for sale on c&c before I think....

V good, but black numberplates on a R reg car from 1977 are just plain wrong, and I do not care that the historically ignorant DVLA allows it. People who are into historical cars ought, I suggest, to have a sense of history, even though the DVLA does not.
Totally agreed. It looks utterly wrong and weird
I like it. smile I think all cars look better with silver on black number plates, even modern ones. I love bumping into Guernsey registered cars.

Wisdom!

Meanwhile, OP, I assume that you will keep your Montecarlo forever. As to which, yay!

As for motorsporting victory by stickers, I always assumed that all 70s rallys were won by sticker counting. Or perhaps by the number of extra lamps that you could stick on the front of the car.

The sun was out so silly not to....

Sometimes you find a yearning for the quiet life
The country air and all of its joys
But badgers couldn’t compensate at twice the price
For just another day with the toys, oh yeah
And boys and their toys will be boys oh yeah

Blimey, that was quick work! They good. Are they magnesium, or had things moved on a bit by then?

So it is easy to find your wheels after they’ve been stuck in a garage for 38 years but hard to find the wheel nuts to secure said wheels to the car....
Roger the tyre guy thinks Pentland Components might be the best bet locally so they will get a call today.
I have the size I think from the WWW.
How hard can it be?
Meanwhile, a photograph......it’s from a Scottish Lancia dealers annual Golf Day. Complete with dealer owned helicopter.

I have just obtained a first edition and a third edition of "La Lancia" by Wim Weenink. Lots of Lancia facts ahead.

I hope you find the wheel nuts, OP.

I am finding the Appia section of the LMC very helpful. I have not really interacted with the Beta section. I assume that there might be a Montecarlo section as a subsection of the Beta bit. Maybe try also the Betaboyz forum. Betaboyz themselves I have found hard to get any responses from. I am not sure they are still active.

Lastly, try also the Italian and the German eBays.

Thanks BV I’ve left a message at Monte Hospital but I think they only pick up messages when it’s a full moon or similar so will try a few other places as suggested.

Need to get back into the garage and have another rake around ....

Leo looks like he might save the day.
Having flirted with an overseas purchase of wheel bolts and decided agin Leo Capaldi chief of the Lancia club in Scotland has offered to come over next week with wheel bolts he has in his garage and doesn’t need....blimey.
Leo has a Series 2 Montecarlo which will soon be back on the road after much work by the man himself.
So let’s see what this week will bring....
Meanwhile the monsoon has stopped and we saw the sun again so a quick blast to West Linton seemed appropriate....

Fine news! I hope that was a fun drive.

I am just off to the shops, but will go in 1983 Landy today rather than in or on one of my Italoheaps.

This '77 Monte has just popped up again, if I hadn't just spent several sovs on some rare Mini bits I'd be down there like a shot....

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1259141

It's had a bit of work done on it since it was last advertised on c&c....

And a '78 project here, one for the brave perhaps...?
