Discussion
Part of the variety of cars in one of the workshops ,this is the general or dirty workshop .
A landrover special V8 with quad carbs .
The 2CV8 race car
Early Mustang convertible that came in with pretty heavy accident damage and then discovered lots of bodged floorpan repairs .
2CV had an engine rebuild and general tidy up.
1983 Mazda RX7 in for recommisioning after sitting in a garage since 1994 , no rot and an immaculate interior.
V12 E type in for many upgrades
Rover SD1 in for various jobs .
Their are another 2 bays tucked away to the right .
The place is known as a classic jaguar specialist restoration company.
Finished up the dash pod housing , thats the last of the interior panelling finished . Some sealant to be applied and a nice new steering wheel to be sourced and fitted .
The final fettling of the bonnet is next on the list .
An inspection of the current wheels has shown that the lips where the tyre beads sit are not adequate and we don't know how old the wheels are ,they do show much evidence of the use of silicone sealant so that points to past problems with keeping the tyres in place or maintained pressure.
Some 8 x 13 and 10 x 13 Revolution wheels with 23 inch Avon race slicks should fill the arches !
The bonnet needs some final fettling/shaping and some reinforced mounting points ,then painting.
The final door has been sourced . The boot lid needs modification and fitting , rear lamps need fitting . New wheels and tyres . Engine build and away we go .
Only a year late !
Now Peter is back to normal working hours the 2CV8 will be back to evenings and weekends and customer cars back to taking priority.
The factory spec rear lights are being mounted through the boot lid . Originally the rear rain light was going to be mounted to the rear wing .
Unfortunately one of the series the car is going to be running in doesn't allow additional extra aerodynamic aids so the wing will be removed for that series. So the rain light needs a re - think .

Initial fitting of a rear wing , the door will be fitted then final shaping ,filling and cutting .
It's going to be strange to see the driver in the back .
After looking at it for a couple of hours Peter wasn't happy with it so moved it up a bit . He has almost finished the other wing and it's getting close to time to get it into the paint shop .
