Citroen 2cv V8 Racer
Discussion
After much deliberation and trying at least 3 other steering wheels Peter finally bit the bullet and bought this one from Italy . It's from a racing Fiat 500 . It needs a good polish and it might get a nice leather pad for the centre, like the 70s Lotus race cars . The car is in the spirit of the 70s Super Saloons and Peter is trying to get the look of a 70s built car .

If you have to take the rear wing off for some series how will that effect the aerodynamic balance of the car?
Will you have to modify anything else?
Until we test it we haven't got a clue on the aerodynamics !Will you have to modify anything else?
The other mod will be road legal tyres as race slicks are also banned .
The main thing is to have fun and entertain.
Love this build, thought of it when I saw these on FB

You'll need spares if your rubbin when racing

The plan is to take moulds of the wings so replacement should not be a problem.
Fitting window rubbers and windows .
The front windows will be a bit more involved as it's getting one piece front windows . So front rubbers will have to be custom cut and templates made for the windows.
For those that are not familiar with 2CVs they normally have windows that have a hinged top section.
Due to the workshop being so busy not much has been done to the 2CV8 .
Work has now started on preparing all the ancillary components for the race engine.
This is the oil pump pulley being machined .
Having raced one of these engines for many years and achieved good power and amazing reliability, Peter knows most of the tricks to make them work .
Being able to do so much in house certainly keeps the costs down and the quality up .
