Citroen 2cv V8 Racer
Discussion
On the left is a normal V8 sump, on the right is a Pinto dry sump . The next step is fabrication of a version of the R/H sump to fit the V8 .
For those that don't know the dry sump system offers many advantages over a normal wet sump . One of those is to allow the engine to sit lower in the chassis, this helps with lowering the centre of gravity . Dry sumps also help prevent the oil surge that happens with a wet sump especially with the high cornering speeds of a race machine .

Yes Ranger , it's being modified for a customer and will have a similar carb set up as the 2CV8 . Road legal too .Do you think if I pulled a 'Tim Shaw' from Car SOS and turned up with the bits of my 3.9 that they'd build it for me

Even the boss is wondering when he will even start some of his own projects he has sitting in storage.
The dry sump is done .
Time to pull the engine and start the race build .
Peter is having a visit from someone from a camshaft manufacturer next week so hopefully something interesting should be forthcoming. He is looking for cams for various builds also , road E type ,race E type, Rover V8 , XJ40 and XJR supercharged .
