Cracking project but it’s lacking one detail to set it off.

It desperately needs a period French number plate.

After 4 years it's finally got matched wheels and on the floor and capable of moving under its own power.

A few fiddly things to do and some livery then it's ready for a run out in public.

It’d be great if you could record some video. With sound.

Peter has hinted at his next project to build.
A lowered and widened E type with a big V8 .
In the between time the classic E type racer needs finishing.
The XJR needs a race engine building.
The Holden Commodore needs to have a twin turbo conversion.
Plus a Brut Camaro replica is waiting in the yard .

Readers of Autosport look out for a mention by Marcus Pye about the 2CV8 in this week's addition.

Wheeled out to go off for some livery.
It looks so small and innocent!

That's brilliant, can't wait to see the livery once applied and some video footage of it running!

Thanks for sharing the article - Pete mentions he's raced more 'traditional' 2CVs, is that series still going? Not heard anything about it for years, used to be a great sight seeing swarms of 2CVs slipstreaming eachother and seeing who dared brake latest.

Nearly finished, still juggling with the wheel set up .
The front offset is being changed so wider tyres can fit without protuding beyond the wings and the rears are going out 2 inches wider .
Hopefully it's the retro look that Peter was hoping for .

That looks so good, whacky idea, wonderful craftsmanship, enjoyed every post from the start.
Glad it came out like that

Graphics are ace!

Loved the mad super/mod saloon car racing of the 70s, and I think this is brilliantly bonkers, but definitely needs a bigger rear wing.biggrin

Peter Thurston informed me that Autosport are doing a full multi page article on the car for next month.
Lots to do in the workshop, hopefully helped by the arrival of 2 possibly 3 extra staff .
The work book is full to bursting with people having to be turned away . The customers keep adding work they want doing once they see the standard available.
