I love the lunacy of it as much as the fabrication work involved.

Will there be a mount for putting a basket of eggs?

This one is getting a bit of attention for a change . It's being given a run out in a couple of weeks at Lydden.
Before then it needs tyres , up to date extinguisher and new seat belts . It's not particularly quick but it handles really well and is certainly intimidating to smaller cars .
The 2CV8 is rapidly approaching the time when it will be taken apart fully welded up, have the chassis and cage all painted up and then assembled properly. We also talked of the possibility of asking a local scrutineer to come and give it the once over .

The first of the inlet manifolds ready to go to the casting foundry . Fingers crossed all goes well .
We are so lucky to have local companies that are capable and willing to do this sort of work .

My 2CV when I was at university, was a beachcomber - I think the colour scheme would suit something with more grunt

I'm also watching the engine build with interest as I'm re-building a 3.9 to go into my 90.

Those carbs do look sexy !
A big box of bits has just arrived so all the linkages will soon be built up.
If the carbs/manifold set up works as expected then Peter plans to sell kits for the Rover V8 at a very reasonable price .

If you look closely you will notice a small gap between the bulkhead and the body , this will be filled by a seal as the body is designed to be easily removed to enable servicing .

Not the favourite colours but it will be mostly red with white flashes and graphics .

Customers cars have gotten in the way of late .
Lotus Elan S2 convertible just reassembled after a repaint and refresh now off for a new hood ( customers daily driver)
Lotus Elan s2 hard top had a chassis refurb and being put back together with refreshed mechanics and soon to be reunited with its body .
11 E types from full restoration to engine rebuild or a competition one that needs modifications to accommodate a tall driver .
About a dozen others of various types from a fully restored DB6 to a concours Minivan .
About 25 others awaiting space in the workshops .
Work has started on mocking up a front splitter for the 2CV but lots of work , early darkness and falling temperatures don't encourage the builder to stay after the working day to play with race cars .

Starting to mock up the front splitter , easier to do it initially in a sheet of ply .

Paneling in the interior. The silencer box will be going between the interior panels and the door and exiting to the side . It's all going to need plenty of heat insulation as it will be getting a bit warm !
Peter has decided that some sort of basic side skirt will probably be fitted . So long as it looks in keeping with the 70s 80s look that we are hoping to achieve.

Rear parcel shelf and bulkhead fabricated
Thoughts are on the roof and rear spoiler . We would like to make it appear as if the roof is rolled back . Rules state that saloon cars must be enclosed .
