Thread Update

Have managed to stay clear of a remap thus far … unsure how long I’ll resist for. Though current performance is ample IMO

Had a clear-out of unwanted items from the house and made the obligatory run to the local Waste Recycling Centre. Pleasantly surprised with load capacity – at times I did think there was no way some of those items would have got into the W205 C250d Saloon – previous car.

Paintwork is full of swirl marks. Does seem like the 1 previous owner before me loved his/her local £5 wash & dry. Car is being sent to a local detailer to have its paintwork put right …
Good to hear, taking the plunge in the next week hopefully, though a 330dx, bd finding the right spec at the right price, so many crap boggo ex lease cars out there . The one i am looking at is Tanzenite too, Mineral or Estoril was my preference, but dealer seems to do a good job prepping cars, but not seen it in the flesh yet , but worried about my ability to keep it that way (im a £5 wash and dryer currently but may have to change!)

Will see how i get on with thes suspension, did try a 330ds and did drive better than the 2 xdrives i tried. Weirdly the 335xd wasn't noticeably faster than the 330d, but suspect it wasn't 100%, was an accompanied test drive too annoyingly

They are superb cars. had mine since February and had a stage 2 tune with intercooler since March and its as quick as you need now (437bhp on dyno, 12.2 1/4 with full fluids)

Had mine lowered on H&R springs and looks great and is very planted now. Nothing else needs done now although I will be trying some new wheels on in a couple of weeks....

Black with red interior and all the M-Performance kit. Looks the part.

Had a 330dx Touring in the family since almost new. In this exact spec, Tanzanite, Opal white leather and Merino leather dash and Piano black trim. Transforms the car.

I've got the 335d in a saloon with remap (400bhp) and ACS Springs - and this is how the car should have left the factory

was down in Devon last week and had a enjoyable time on the Atlantic Highway (A39) and soo much better with the springs

still getting over 40+ mpg and that's with some spirited driving

I am on the look out for a F31 as I now do need the extra space but there was no F31's I liked when i got this 18 mths ago

Averaging approx 35mpg to date. Must say the car isn't driven with economy in mind

On a sensible drive on the motorway I'm seeing 50mpg without trying too hard. For the all round performance this car offers I think the MPG figures are tremendous

Great choice jagfan2. 330d X Drive's are fantastically capable. You'll see better MPG figures without much compromise in performance

Totally understand the whole finding one with the right spec. Took me a while to find the car I wanted but I can assure you it'll be worth the wait holding out for the right car

Lovely colour - toying with the idea of one to replace the cooking spec A4.

That's Aldridge tip isn't it?

Sounds like you guys are really enjoying the extra added power via the remaps. Temptation is strong biggrin ... would only be a stage 1 for me

Its a no brainer for me. There are a number of people chucking bigger turbos on and running 450-500bhp with no issues so an uplift to 380-400 is pretty safe and the pace gives M3 drivers a shock! Tho I still fancy an M3 obviously... if only they did one in an estate.... oh hold on...

Ditched the M3 and took the 35d Touring out for an early drive out. Great first opportunity to learn how it behaves when pushing on down the B roads. Other than a slight hint of brake pedal dropping for a very short period - I was very impressed with its capability. Some corners had me wondering what pace could I have genuinely entered, taken and exited if I had taken the old M3 (E46).

Suspension and Michelin PS4’s performed so well. Being an X drive I’m very confident that had the roads have been damp the pace wouldn’t have been much slower – need a D3 Touring to give chase next time …

... in the absence of a D3 Touring I had the pleasure of a lovely m140i (Birds b1 suspension kit inc Quaife LSD), E92 335d (Stage 1) and F82 M4 (off shot) join me.

Lovely car, stick some Redstuff pads in the calipers and some higher boiling point fluid and I doubt you'll want to be pushing much further on a public road!

If brake fade scenario's continue will look to upgrade to HEL hoses, Motul600 and DS2500’s. For an out of the box brake system it's still impressive. Will look into Redstuff – thanks.

Nearly 10k miles since it’s last oil change by Tamworth BMW. Will perform an interim service myself using genuine BMW oil & BMW oil filter. iDrive recommendation is March 2022 OR 6,800 miles whichever comes first. Not a fan of BMW Condition Based Servicing (CBS) service intervals – too long IMO.

I didnt hold out and went for the one i found in the Tanzanite, wanted the pano roof and big brakes too, but couldn't handle my wifes Astra any longer. Generally loving it though still only in the 40ish mpg but enjoying the performance still

Only annoyance at the moment is the road roar on poor surfaces - mines really bad, am told its not unusual but am not sure there isnt something up on mine, will be trying non RFT when they wear out, unfortunately their nearly new

Congrats ! Hope you enjoy it

Mine came with Bridgestone Potenza's. After switching to PS4's cannot explain the difference. Better ride, less noise and endless grip ..

Yeah keep hearing that from people that know, definitely on the shopping list, will just have to drive it hard for the next 15k and kill these quick laugh

Did have a new Jag XFS sportbrake as a company car for a bit couple of years ago (ex JLR) which was more refined (and a nicer place to be) but then its a class above and newer gen. Did look at the older XFS as an alternative to this as think they are lovely too. But the 3 series is smaller externally with nearly as much room in the cabin, lighter and faster and better handling because of it.

Mines adaptive so have set up sport mode to be just chassis so i can flick into it, then use sport on trans for a bit more go,, tend use comfort round town and eco on Mway where it definitely helps
