Do these 335d tourings come with either a space saver or a full size spare?
One of these about 4 or 5 years old would be ideal for the daily but having at least a space saver is a must as the roads and locations I go on I get punctures that cans of sealant do not hold.
It amazes me how few cars have these now, last year I sold a small BMW 2 seater Z convertible and even that managed to have a space saver under the boot floor!
After replacing the Bridgestone Potenza's with Michelin PS4's I always carry Holts Tyreweld. One of these about 4 or 5 years old would be ideal for the daily but having at least a space saver is a must as the roads and locations I go on I get punctures that cans of sealant do not hold.

Thread Update,
Front brake pads are due in 430 miles – will get front pads and sensor ordered from BMW main dealer. I did mention previously in my thread that I would consider upgrading to DS2500 pads with braided hoses on OEM disks – at the time of writing I believe this modification is complete overkill for the application of the car. It is a daily driver after all …
Been on the fence long enough about a remap. I shortlisted the tuners following hours & hours of research, DM’ing /stalking high mileage 35d owners …
GKR Performance
BW Chiptune
Unicorn Motor Developments
DMS Automotive
After much deliberation, umm’ing & arr’ing I have decided to go with a STAGE 1 remap courtesy of Unicorn Motor Developments. This will be a custom remap on a completely stock car. Uprating the intercooler and going for a STAGE 1 + did cross my mind. Intercooler of choice would have been the Wagner Evo 2 Competition but for me the way the car is used it would be overkill.
I have a genuine BMW OEM air filter sitting in the garage which I’ll replace the old one with the night before travelling to Unicorn Motor Developments.

Great thread and the car looks/sounds great! How are you getting along with keeping the Opal White Merino leather clean?
Applied Gyeon - Q² Leather Shield to the car when I got it. Every couple of weeks I wipe the seats down using leather cleaning wipes takes 5/10 minutes. Not bad to be honest ... I'll be honest I expected white leather ownership to be far worse Pica-Pica said:
For some insurers, upgrading to braided hoses is a declarable modification. I did a comparison site search for car insurance and was surprised to see that as modification that was asked. Some reports also say it can make brakes too ‘grabby’.
I think insurers should bring insurance premiums down for those with uprated brakes ... on a serious note yes absolutely agree its best to declare all the mods to ensure insurance companies can't wiggle their way out of paying for a claim.Quite a turn of events since the last update not long ago! Spoke to a lovely chap called Matthew Carter at MTC Motorsport this morning … long story short I asked him to send out an intercooler. So much for STAGE 1 + being overkill and Wagner Evo 2 Competition being my choice of intercooler…
Choice of 2 colours – SILVER or BLACK. Went with the latter

How did you get hold of Rick at Unicron mate?
Probably by email. I've been trying the phone all week. Just goes to voice mail. He's not showing as closed so maybe just really busy at the moment. Chloe normally takes the calls - give it another go. I noticed they are closed on Monday's
335d underwent the Unicorn treatment this afternoon. Ricky is a wizard and such a lovely guy to deal with. Explained that I wanted him to cap the power with a conservative map as the car is for keeping. 2.5hrs of fettling and the results are as follows 372.59 bhp and 765 nm torque. Ricky could have extracted more power but he was happy to cater to my requirements by capping the power. The car feels fantastic! Should have left the factory this way …

Power delivery is exactly like the standard car – very progressive and OEM like. To be honest you’ll never notice the car was mapped if you’re pottering around – it spends most of its time at 10-30% throttle. At maximum load its relentless. The 2016 plate Audi S5 I mentioned in page 2 of this thread wouldn’t even know what hit it
A really important point to note is that the chassis of the car is unphased with the additional power. ACS springs and x-drive make it so capable in the wet. It should have come this way from factory!
Will monitor mpg and report back. Sitting behind a lorry on a motorway scenario between 57-60mph it’ll get 56-57mpg without much issue – just to give you an idea. Not bad for something that has 372.59 bhp and 765 nm torque. 0-60 is anywhere between 4 – 4.3 seconds, top speed limiter has been removed so anywhere between 170/180mph can be achieved on a long enough straight although the speedo will stop at 160mph so will need a GPS speedometer to record the true top speed .. not bad for a diesel wagon

Hi Pete, can I ask what your experience has been with the 335d so far? Im considering one as a next purchase.
Interested to hear your thoughts back on how the car drives now that the remap has been done, is it noticeably quicker?
Big statement but in many ways its all the car anyone could ever need the lightly fettled 335d. Perfect dad wagon Interested to hear your thoughts back on how the car drives now that the remap has been done, is it noticeably quicker?
Just ticks so many boxes. Do find yourself one with a nice spec so would advise waiting out for the right car. I made a list of must have options and originally set out to buy an F31 D3 Alpina. After months and months of searching the closest i got was the following car but it didn't have a panoramic roof which killed the deal for me ..

The six cylinder BMW diesels are an unbelievable mix of performance and economy.
I had a mapped F30 330d. 331bhp and 500lbft but it drove exactly like OEM and at 80 on cruise would do 55mpg.
It was the perfect car but it couldn’t stop me from swapping it for a W204 C63. The C63 isn’t massively faster but my god it’s more exciting.
Uses three times more fuel
Special place in my heart for a w204 C63 I had a mapped F30 330d. 331bhp and 500lbft but it drove exactly like OEM and at 80 on cruise would do 55mpg.

There is something so right about them. Dream spec would be C63 PPP wagon, opal red, cream leather, black wheels, upgraded sound, pan roof. Something like this but the bread-van variant ...
Thread update
Front brake pads replaced with OEM BMW genuine pads and sensor. Parts supplied courtesy of Harry Fairbairn Kirkcaldy BMW – fantastic service and cannot be beaten on price. Pads didn’t look like they’ve ever been changed before. Here is what they look like after 39,852 miles …
Only problem is the brake disks were very well used ! Whilst the pads are bedding themselves in I can hear a horrible grinding noise - in high insight I should have changed the disks too and done the job properly. Will give it a week if the grinding noise doesn't subside I'll fit brand new OEM BMW genuine pads & disks to the front. The parts are on order and should arrive on Wednesday. If the noise subsides then i'll have an extra set of front brakes I can use in future when I need them
Whilst I was at it I completely flushed out the old washer fluid and replaced with OEM BMW genuine windscreen washer with anti-freeze.

Went out this morning for an overdue 4-wheel alignment post ACS springs. Covered 7,230 miles since having the ACS springs fitted. Camber and toe was out ever so slightly on the front which has now been put back to factory spec. Also the steering wheel was slightly off centre triggering my OCD – this has also been put right.
Started to snow pretty heavily as I was making my way back home with the snow sticking to the road. Having the x-drive and plenty of tread on the Michelin PS4’s the car felt excellent – I can say with confidence I came across a few junctions where if I had my previous Merc’s I would have got stuck …
