Very nice, OP.

Interior looks great, massive improvement on the previous one.

Though you’ll have to change your username. ‘RedCalipersAMG45’ should do it smile

the price is absurd, one of the factors in why i didn't replace my 45 last year with the new one

hows the gearbox, the originals 45 box was dogst, although improved to just acceptable in the FL cars ?
is it really double the better of a Golf R?

Probably not, but it is significantly better than Mercedes previous efforts judging by the reviews. Golf R doesn't really appeal at all for some reason.

I'm waiting for hefty depreciation to occur of course smile

Lovely looking car OP.

I've priced one of these up both new and used a few times, bang for buck they are great and I love the styling. I just really do hate the sound they make. Has anyone made these cars sound half decent with an aftermarket exhaust etc?

That looks incredibly low from those pictures - do you have any issue with speed bumps etc?
They are really low. When pushing on you can bottom out, let alone just getting over speed bumps. You get used to the sound after a while!

I've been looking at these, but the price is hard to swallow. My 2019 facelift C63s was 55k and it's got a V8 with 500hp, B9 RS4's can be had too at that price.

But they do seem to be selling though.

Might be a good buy once the depreciation kicks in though. Spec looks great, but it's still a 4 pot A-class!

Love the car almost as much as the subtle name change!

I had a bmw 240 for four years but just sold it. Such a powerful engine in a small car is quite an attractive package for a usable car.

as you can see I am a bit of a fan of A45 this version is much better than my last one

I say to anyone go for a test drive because dry or wet the grip and steering is fantastic a great package

Versatility you can put into comfort mode for the boring driving and then put into sport + for the fun drives

I’ve got a 35 Premium Plus, the interior and big screens are pretty much the best out there, they’re easy to use and look great.

I’d love one of these but I think they’ll always be that bit too expensive for me.

Have been thinking of getting A45S without plus pack. Hade a previous facelift version and did 80000 miles never missed a beat but expensive on tyres and servicing. Tried Golf R was so disappointing poor gearbox v slow and kept kicking down when in manual mode (dsg box). Currently running 2020 M135i nicer than Golf but still a bit dull. Think I just don't like Audi/VW's. Totally without soul. On my mileage A45S only £50 per month more than new Golf R with extra spec including full maintenance and tyres. Looks ordinary too without flicks and spoiler. Can you tell I'm old??
I do fancy a Yaris GR though. Only if I was 35 years youger maybe. When are Alfa bringing something to compete please?
I like to ramble on...........

I took one for a test drive, never driven a car so tiring, it was almost impossible to drive slowly. I couldn't tell much difference between comfort and race, it was just fast and faster. Just a sniff on the gas pedal and it was dropping cogs and haring off down the road. It's like trying to sit quietly with a yapping dog in the room, very highly strung car. Fast though!

We had the previous gen A45 and we found it very like that - manic and highly strung.

You would pull out to pass someone and it would drop about 5 cogs and away up the road like a stabbed rat.

Fun when you're in the mood, gets a bit annoying for the other 90% of the time.

Incredibly fast cross country. I can only imagine what the new car is like, given its next gen and more powerful. nuts

What a machine and so much presence.

The stats on these are amazing, had a a little play with one and the amount of grip and way they can take corners blew me away.

That looks evil (in a good way) in black.
To think this turbo’d 2litre has as much power the 5.5 V8 in my SLK 55. Quite amazing really and being a AMG will be reliable.

Thank you for the comments
I have done 2730 miles and I am still smiling and the black suits it I have loads of people chatting to me at petrol stations
In the spring I will be getting remapped at DMS
It will take the power up to 478 bhp
The stats are impressive already but when tuned 0-60 3.1 and 0-90 6.1 seconds
So it will be even fastersmile
I have no issue driving everyday and in comfort mode it is just like any normal A class
People are quite surprised how fast it is and it is a great package

What is the engine like to use? I assume there is minimal lag in auto mode but what about in manual is there much lag.

It’s mad how fast these are. Faster than my W204 C63!
