Is it the two metal parts visible at the bottom of the surround here?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ferrari-456-GT-GTA-M-F1...

Struggling to find them on the parts diagram www.eurospares.co.uk/parts/ferrari/456-gt-gta/inte...

Makes me think they're part of the sub assembly.

Thanks guys for checking, I can’t see the part on any diagrams but the 2 x clips go here (1 either side):

They secure onto these 2 x metal prongs (close to the windscreen):

Yes very close and if no joy finding the part I’ll try and bend something like the above or this:

Main issue is it can only be 5mm wide to fit through the hole. Most on eBay are around 8-10mm

From the eBay add above is a plastic ‘socket’ more readily available?

Thanks guys will check that site and good spot Captain_Morgan. Found another instrument pod / surround which has the same looking fastener but no joy finding one so far:

Looks like you could use one of these and cut it down, loads of different sizes.

I’d wager these are out of a common parts bin or from one specialist Italian ironmongery factory.

It is in situations like this that David Askew comes into his own. I find that if I send him the dimensions of the part in question and some clear photos, he often can ferret out the bit from his stock:

Thanks guys, looks like the part is (should be) rubber so will try the gromet idea. Cheers All

Not too shabby and no more visible staples:

Before

After

Love how the reset pin and mounts mean that the revs are idling at 500rpm and the speedo is at 12mph. Must have been a Friday afternoon job.

Beautiful instrument cluster though.

All back together - always a relief that the instrument cluster still works along with all the lights. 2 x rubber grommets did the job for securing the back of the instrument cluster to the dash.

Unfortunately the leather airbag cover has stretched some more so will give that another go perhaps with some thicker foam lining.

Before and after:

Looking forward to some warmer weather and Goodwood events

Have you tried a little heat from a heat gun on a low setting or steam to remove the crease's from the airbag.

I used to work for a company that supplied all the seats for a big car maker in the UK and thats what we did to remove creases and heat will also shrink the leather.

Bellissimo!

That is going to sound incredible

There is one other company in Japan called Brilliant Exhaust. Along with Fiammenghi they seem to be the only ones to build a 6 to 1 manifold / header, which you need for that old school F1 sound

Reminds me a lot of the murcielago LP640. https://youtu.be/byRDJm61wMk?t=88

Exactly how a V12 should sound. cloud9

Yes, that hits the spot biggrin

Mind you, you don't even need a V12 Ferrari to get that sound ...

Their fabrication skills are impressive (as are the sounds emitted with their exhausts fitted to anything with a V12 engine)
